Yes, there were warning signs, someone had notified someone a girl had taken a knife to school before the stabbing happened.

But April 20 1999 might have been a warning sign, schools are not a very safe place in the first place, when people are forced to go there, when people are getting together from different classes and ethnicities and religions and irreligions and music styles and lifestyles and male and female students make each sex involved in competition about the other one, for years.

I heard a director speak of 44 000 students at a single school.

How about obliging students to go out on the streets 10 pm or later on the streets they don't live in and most diametrically opposed to their own?

Might result in somewhat fewer deaths and assaults.

The mother speaking of her daughter's assaulter as a "child" when we deal with 8th graders is hardly making things better. Not meaning she and her daughter aren't victims, they are, but the idea of a girl holding a knife and being treated as a child when puberty has already set in is not helping to avoid this kind of situations./HGL
