A February 2024 article in Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences calculated excess deaths between March 2020 and August 2022, concluding that around 1.2 million Americans had died of COVID-19.
Out of how many total?

In 2020, a total of 3,383,729 resident deaths were registered in the United States—528,891 more deaths than in 2019.
Mortality in the United States, 2021

In 2021, a total of 3,464,231 resident deaths were registered in the United States—80,502 more deaths than in 2020.
Mortality in the United States, 2022

In 2022, a total of 3,279,857 resident deaths were registered in the United States—184,374 fewer deaths than in 2021.
Sum:
3,383,729 + 3,464,231 + 3,279,857 = 10,127,817
Can we get away the first two months of 2020 and the last four of 2022?
Not the best to use the average, but this is what I find right now:
2022 Average per Month: ~273,321 deaths
10,127,817 - 4*273,321 = 9,034,533
2020 Average per Month, couldn't find any.
9,034,533 - 2/12*3,383,729 = 8,470,578
Ratio: 1,200,000 / 8,470,578 = 14.16668 %, less than 1/7 of those who died.
And please note, some cases can involve selective reporting about what counts as a Covid death.
Bad? Yes. So bad that traumatising and totalitarian measures needed to be imposed? No.

Similarily, all the vaccines I know of, for this disease, not for all, used fetal cells from a human abortion to cultivate the pathogens. Amoebae and bacteria can be cultivated on sugar solution in a petri dish, but virus aren't alive and therefore have to be cultivated in living cells. It could have been some other living cell, but it wasn't, it was from a human fetus./HGL
