Margaret Sanger is a "Saint" of Feminism, like LaVey is a "Saint" of Satanism

Φιλολoγικά/Philologica : Pope Leo X · New blog on the kid : Margaret Sanger is a "Saint" of Feminism, like LaVey is a "Saint" of Satanism

There are connections in which the word "saint" is used in other ways than referring to exemplary Christians. When you speak of "saint of" or "saints of" you mean a person or persons being to that "of" thing what saints in the normal sense are to Catholicism.

Therefore, I can't see her inclusion in "Saints of Feminism" as an attempt of canonisation or a portrayal as a saint.

Rather, her inclusion in a category like "saints of feminism" shows how evil feminism is. Precisely as if a man considers LaVey and Alistair Crowley as his saints, you can conclude he is a Satanist.

However, those who feel that phrases like "saints of feminism" or "saints of Satanism" are offensive to the real saints, there is a TFP petition where you can protest against her being included in "saints of feminism", but it's more like they should be protesting against title using the word "saint".

A recent book published by Penguin Random House, The Little Book of Feminist Saints, depicts pro-abortion advocates and activists like Cecile Richards, her mother Ann Richards, Hillary Clinton, Michelle Obama, former Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O’Connor, Planned Parenthood founder Margaret Sanger and Gloria Steinem as feminist "saints."

The promotion of abortion is in direct contradiction with Catholic Doctrine.

Sure, feminism is indeed in contradiction with Catholic doctrine. If you look up "saints of Buddhism," you will find people promoting reincarnation and nirvana, also in contradiction with Catholic doctrine.

What are even worse, are the images that depict these abortion advocates as "saints." Mocking the way the Church depicts real saints, images of women with halos behind their head and some of them giving a sign of blessing with their right hand

That kind of is worse.

In a Catholic society, they would have to pay fines, get the books burned for that, and republish under a different layout.

Or even NOT republish.

Margaret Sanger, founder of Planned Parent has said:

  • "But for my view, I believe that there should be no more babies."
  • "The most merciful thing that the large family does to one of its infant members is to kill it."
  • "We don’t want the word to go out that we want to exterminate the Negro population..."

This reminds me of the words of the French President. It seems he has no problem with educated women chosing to have seven or eight children, "but this is not the case in Africa" or something (I will have to look up the exact wording).

Well, saying uneducated women shouldn't have children (which is what you are basically saying if you claim their fertility is not chosen if they are noted educated) is precisely as classist as it is racist saying African women should have no children.

A book honouring such a monster as Sanger would be burned publically by the Inquisition, in a Catholic society.

A Catholic society with death penalty for heresy (which was by far not all of them) would also have burned Margaret Sanger, unless she repented in public. Which I'd be as calm about as burning LaVey for apostasy, if he didn't repent in public. However, they have both met a higher judge than the Inquisitorial tribunal, by now.

Speaking of Sanger and LaVey - I basically said "witches" though not in so many words. Reminds me of an entry in an article "The Popes Saint Thomas More died for"

Pope Innocent VIII

As More reached school age in 1484, Innocent VIII took the Papal throne. Innocent pursued the inquisition and searching out witches.

This was arguably in connection with a witch sect in Germany, not just concerned with getting visions of Satan, by horribly abusing the possibilities of self hypnosis and enhancing them with drugs too, which is a LaVey connection, but also concrned with being "helpful" about abortions.

I can relate to why he pursued that.

He had two illegitimate children from before entering the clergy.

Which is a reason why we don't consider him a saint. Two legitimate children, from a marriage before widowhood and that before entering the clergy would have been acceptable.

He married his son into the Medici family in exchange for giving the cardinal’s hat to a 13-year-old Medici who would become Pope Leo X.

Who does not care for his own household is worse than a heathen. That Medici was not a bad guy - I made another article dealing with him on the Philology related blog.
