Seems that Some Took Issue with a Description of Lebensborn

... keep teen marriages in the US legal! And for states where this is not the case, well, if some have compared you to Nazis, why not take one of their good ideas? Lebensborn. I don't mean the eugenics crimes or the child stealing that they also did, I simply mean, pregnant teens who under Prussian laws couldn't marry before 18, were not without support. OK, it was abused to get some teen girls act as concubines of SS, but it was not pro-abortion. ... Teen marriages are better than Lebensborn. But abortions are way worse.

Some would possibly take issue with "I don't mean the eugenics crimes" (killing of "unfit" children) "or the child stealing" (from people in occupied territories, if they looked arisch) "that they also did" ... and ask "did they even do anything else than that at all?" If you want an exploration of the darker side of Lebensborn, take a look at the article:

Hitler’s ‘master race’ children haunted by their past
by Russell Grigg | This article is from

Yes. They did. They did do some other things as well.

The Lebensborn e. V. was during the National Socialist era an association born by the SS, and promoted by the State, the goal of which it was, to, based on National Socialist Racial Hygiene and Sanitarian ideology, bring by a rise in birth rates for "aryan" children. This was to be reached by dissuading unmarried women and girls from abortion, by offering the anonymity of child birth and by thereon offering up children born out of wedlock to adoption – preferrably to families of SS members.

On the side of this, the Lebensborn was co-responsible for kidnapping of children from areas occupied by Germany. In the case these were considered as "aryan" in the sense of the National Socialist Racial ideology, which was examined thoroughly, they were brought, while hiding their identity, to Lebensborn homes in the German Reich or in the occupied territories.

I'll now cite a paragraph about the beginning of the Lebensborn. Note, the previous paragraph, referred to in "diese Fakten" / "these facts" gave socio-economic causes for low birth rates. These obviously do not contradict Himmler's assessment that the low birth rates were brought about by (then illegal) abortions. Which is why he came to found Lebensborn.

Heinrich Himmler, the Reichsführer SS and chief of the German police, ignored these facts (!), proposed other numbers after statistics from the Head Authority of Popular Health, and claimed, that the then forbidden and punished abortions were causing a recession of births. In a letter to the chief commander of the Wehrmacht Wilhelm Keitel from 1940, he estimated the number of annual abortions to up to 600,000, which were then lost to the German Reich in terms of posterity. Likewise according to him "annually hundreds of thousands of valuable girls and women fall victims to secret abortions, often resulting in sterility. ... But the goal to protect German blood is, in the highest degree, obliging.

Let me repeat. I do not say "German lives are" (more) "important" (than others), I'm saying all lives are important. (That includes, obviously, German ones). I do not think German or any other élites, SS or very anti-SS, including the most anti-SS there are, have a right to get adoption through kidnapping. Something which the German wikipedia considered as a side issue to the goal of providing an alternative to abortion. And something which CPS over much of the world is heavily promoting well outside National Socialism. I do not believe in killing children who are handicapped.

Let me repeat another thing. Getting an unwed mother, whether Himmler would have called her "girl" or "woman" married is highly preferrable over Lebensborn. That's a very good reason to lower the marital age. But unless Trump wants to federally lower the marital age, at least for girls, I think he would do well to take a cue from Himmler, much as there is to be said against that man on other accounts.

Mr. Russell Grigg in his article stated:

Instead of becoming part of the new master race, the children procreated in the Lebensborn homes suffered greatly after WWII, with the collapse of Nazi Germany. As illegitimate babies from a Nazi propagation program, many lived out their lives in confusion and ostracism.

If they were adopted, how come they were still illegitimate? Perhaps adoptive parents are sometimes not all that equally fond of adopted children as they would be of their own. But perhaps also, records were kept and abused by authorities subsequent to the National Socialist ones.

I think parts of the ostracism were simply what Communists in East Germany, and in many cases also Social Democrats, did to National Socialists with lots of collaterals. Some may know that I think the Isdal Woman was killed because she was daughter of an NS dignitary.* Somewhat less extreme cases (but with clearer documentation) would involve women having held affairs with the occupant getting stoned in France after liberation.

The eugenic ideology was not at all unique to National Socialism. Sweden and Norway acted out eugenic policies up to the 1970's (thank God and General Patton that Germany stopped this in 1945!) East Germany like Soviet Russia would have had an eugenic attitude even if they did not have an eugenic policy. This is a sufficient explanation for the suffering of these people, even with no consequence being involved from the Lebensborn as such.

I trust that the intent of Russell Grigg wasn't to suggest that pregnant teen girls should have gone to illegal abortions rather than Lebensborn? Can we hope that at least?

For others, discovering the truth was equally traumatic.2 In Norway, those born of Norwegian mothers and German soldiers—‘children of the enemy’—faced pitiless discrimination and were often harassed, beaten, and called ‘Nazi swine’.

That's not limited to Lebensborn, I'd think. Synni Lyngstad didn't depend on Lebensborn, but on her mother Arntine Lyngstad to raise Annifrid! The father was the German then soldier Alfred Haase, and when moving to Sweden in 1947 (decidedly a good year for our country, on other items too!) things were better. Again, the explanation is not the eugenics of the National Socialists, but the eugenics of their enemies, who were also Social Darwinists and also eugenicists. Lenin planned a eugenics programme, it was Stalin and Lysenko who stopped it, and Hitler could have had that idea, a very different thing as such from Lebensborn, at its core concern, from Lenin via the Munich Soviet of 1919.**

But as said, for pregnant teens, Lebensborn is second best. Best is, having laws that have the option of marrying young, and basically from as young as when you can make someone pregnant for boys or when you can get pregnant for girls.

Are Confraternities Essential to the Church?

Yesterday, I watched a video by Anthony Stine.

The title was Formerly Catholic Country Forces Monks To Accept A LadyMonk In Monastery. This next day, he has still not corrected the clickbait.

There is an image, venerated in a Church that belongs to a convent. However, as Queen Sofia has visited it, the Church is not inside the enclosure of the convent brothers, and also not inside a male visitors only enclosure. In Le Barroux, I was outside the enclosure of the monks proper, on a retreat, but within an enclosure for male guests only, however, during mass, there were female visitors as well, so the Church (except the Choir) was open to the public.

There is also a lay fraternity that comes to venerate the image, and which hitherto has been closed to women. Please note, the fraternity does not live in the place, it has arranged to visit it on specific feast days. Or perhaps even to keep up a perpetual adoration (it's an image of Christ, so it would be relative adoration, not just relative veneration of a saint). But anyway, it is a fraternity of laymen. It's statutes are ancient, approved by Popes and Kings of Spain. It was back in the time when acting publically was basically a thing that just men did.

In Spain and Portugal, there are confraternities, which are basically equivalent to, say, Knights of Columbus or Knights of St. Patrick. Or for that matter, Order of Malta. Now, the Order of Malta actually has a female branch. Dames of Malta — see wikipedia. They should not be confused with Nuns of the order.

Now, such things, like Freemasonry (which is outside the Church) actually does have purported lofty goals, like helping the poor or defending priests or venerating, in this case an image. Nevertheless, there are also fringe benefits, like contacts with important people. Someone who wanted to join these things exclusively for the lofty objectives would be a noble soul indeed, I think most have at least some kind of regard for the fringe benefits, even if they would say that is subordinate.

Suppose the female applicant had founded a lay confraternity for the same image, but for ladies. It would be new, and therefore vastly more marginal. She, as well as the already extant male members, is a layman, and as such needs to have some kind of income. It would seem, since women are doing business, these days, they should not be excluded. However, María Teresita Laborda Sanz, the lady mentioned in the News Story, seems to be identic to the María Teresita Laborda Sanz who is a nurse, in the region of Tenerife, which is in the Canary Islands and therefore where the news story belongs. As employee of the state, in Hospital Universitario de Nra Sra de Candelaria, HUNSC for short, she is arguably not too dependent for her own livelihood on being able to make contacts. Or as she is interested in JV PAREDES, the fringe benefits could concern that company.

This information is accessible from LinkedIn. I did not hire some secret mole.

There could be sth other at stake, when they wanted to exclude her, perhaps some conflict (understandable enough) about mask wearing during the recent pandemic and its extraordinary measures, or but as the confraternity is not at present holding a parallel female one, on roughly equal terms, and as it is laymen, they aren't sharing the same showers as monks or nuns are, I see no religious reason for the Confraternity to refuse the application. Wait, when checking, there could obviously be sth if she intended to carry the Christ statue along with other porters of the fraternity. Antony Stine did not seem to get that this was (apart from that) a purely lay affair. He certainly left some viewers with the impression that a male only monastery was forced to take female applicants, as if Mount Athos were forced, not to accept a female monastery, but to accept a nun in a monks' monastery. However, the porters are standing very close, and probably it is not a good idea to have a woman among men, there. But porters are a smaller part of the confraternity. Possibly there is some kind of drawing of lots, open to members, and if so, that could be a problem.

Now, Anthony Stine mentioned that the sexes, according to the Church, are complementary. True. One part of that has traditionally been that women are not breadwinners and are therefore practically (as well as legally), or were back then, able to marry at puberty, that is according to Church law at age 12 (like men could legally, for some rarer cases even practically, at 14). However, this legislation, which was that of Spain back in 1910 or sth, since Dummrath published a book with this info in 1914 has been repudiated. Now, the normal age of marriage in Spain is 18/18, and exceptions need both a judge's verdict and minimum age for both sexes 14. The older legislation definitely was useful to avoid both promiscuity and abortion. However, there is more silence on this topic, a bit as if the idea of a man past twenty (since a breadwinner, typically not a teen) marrying a girl of twelve gave some even in Spain the kind of vibes it gives Feminists in Scandinavia or the former Soviet.*

So, I ask if he's giving this show just out of incompetence, or out of a plot to make online info unreliable, so that the recent role of internet in information diffusion can be circumvented, or to test someone's capacity of critical thinking, or to please that confraternity, with getting them some international support in facing up to Spain. In the last case, I'd like to know what his relations to for instance Knights of Columbus are.

A wider question is of course, are confraternities and similar a permanent part of the Church or an ephemeral one?

Knights of Columbus ... was founded on March 29, 1882 as a mutual benefit society for working-class and immigrant Catholics in the United States.
Esclavitud del Cristo de La Laguna / Pontificia, Real y Venerable Esclavitud del Santísimo Cristo de La Laguna, the confraternity of the news story, has two roots (like the Spanish Falange), first Cofradía del Santísimo Cristo de La Laguna, founded when the Christ image arrived in the city, 1520, it was later subsumed by la Venerable Esclavitud, founded the 6th of September in 1659. It is a Holy Week confraternity. It's a Gothic Crucifix, with a highly suffering Christ.
Francis founded the Third Order, originally called the Brothers and Sisters of Penance, in 1221, to accommodate men and women who, either from already being in consecrated life as hermits, or from being married, were ineligible to join the Franciscan First or Second Orders, respectively.

This predates the rule for the Dominican Tertiaries, 1285.

I don't think I can find anything older. Obviously, statues can be carried by parishioners, chosen by the priest. People needing to do a life of penance in widowhood or widowerhood or for other reasons can do so without Tertiary orders, under the direction of their parish priest. Catholic workers can join Catholic trade unions. Confraternities and similar are obviously a kind of extra. A plus, if anything. Not a necessary part of the Church, unlike consecrated chastity (the Church's earliest nuns were Church widows, for which St. Paul gave rules in I Timothy 5).

So, confraternities and similar are not essential. They are ephemeral. The Constitutional Court in Spain has hereby violated nothing that is truly essential to the Church, and one cannot consider the verdict an Anti-Christian action. Unless, obviously, there be some kind of obligation to receive her among the porters. She's elderly, but as a precedent it is somewhat grave, since carrying a heavy statue of Christ in Holy Week is not the best occasion to be standing very close to a lady if you are a man, or next to a man, if you are a lady.

Now, Rafael Palomino Lozano, expert of ecclesiastical law, considered this as bad news. In a way it is, it takes away self government of a private association. But even so, it is a very far cry from allowing members to cross-enter monasteries for the opposite gender.

Now, it seems, my analysis of why he could consider it bad news, and my analysis of the reasoning of the court are in fact supported by his comments, on LinkedIn, he stated:

In other words, the respect for religious and associational autonomy is shrinking.

In the pdf he linked under it, from the court, it is stated:

In other words, while the acts of the confraternity as such are religious, there are fringe benefits, and this confraternity being the most prestigious, excluding her because she is a woman means sex discrimination for a great opportunity.

What is really bad is, that the court considers that this would not be exercising the same religious act in another confraternity of the town. As if the nature of the act were modified in consequence of the fringe benefits. That's about the secularism which imposed priestesses on the Church of England and the Church of Sweden. Unfortunately, that's not exactly how Mr. Stine presented it.

That said, there is also a danger that confraternities and similar could start to become clubs that rise to more importance in Church life than the clergy and the other interactions of lay people. In the Catholic Church, a priest is supposed to be kind of a single person chief in the parish, with other clergy, and not to have his Church politics heavily influenced by special associations of some of the laymen. We do not hold to a council of elders, like in Presbyterian Church Polity. Wiki says: There are two types of elder; the teaching elder (see Minister below) and the ruling elder. The latter are essentially laymen (only the "teaching elder" or "minister" is ordained in any remote sense of the word, invalid also), who tell the "teaching elder" how to handle things. Jews also have a similar polity, as I discovered when re-making acquaintance with Rabbi Small. The trouble in 1905 in France was partly that the French régime back then was requiring that Catholic parishes conform to this model. Which Pope St. Pius X obviously refused, even if it meant economic and actually also bloody martyrdom for faithful Catholics, back then.

So, my fear about confraternities and similar is, they could in some cases turn into unofficial equivalents of the "bench of elders" mentioned by Miller in the wiki.** Or, in some parishes, in order to have a decent chance of marriage and of business associations (and yes, to a Catholic writer, the most natural business associates would be specifically Catholic publishers, being excluded from the company of for instance Bergeron or editors on Via Romana cannot be compensated by not being excluded from applying to heavily secularist Harmattan or Flammarion) could work via being part of sth like the type of men that would be considered typical of a confraternity in Spain or Portugal. When I was a parishioner in St. Nicolas du Chardonnet, I was however just a parishioner, seen as undesirable by that type of people, who were (it would seem to me) not corrected by the priests.

* Scandinavia, especially Sweden, has an organisation called RFSU. They were even in my teens giving the kind of sex education that Americans would find creepy (out in schools) and rightly oppose. Part of their origins was the Soviet diplomat Aleksandra Kollontay, prior to that a leader of Komsomol, who bragged about her openness in this matter. This has also come to stamp age difference (or relative age) rather than pre-puberal absolute underage of the female partner, as the essence of paedophilia.

** Here is the extract:
An excerpt from Miller (1831) expands this.[12]: Chapter 1

In every Church completely organized, that is, furnished with all the officers which Christ has instituted and which are necessary for carrying into full effect the laws of his kingdom, there ought to be three classes of officers, viz: at least one Teaching Elder, Bishop, or Pastor — a bench of Ruling Elders — and Deacons. The first to "minister in the Word and Doctrine", and to dispense the sacraments; — the second to assist in the inspection and government of the Church; — and the third to "serve tables"; that is, to take care of the Church's funds destined for the support of the poor, and sometimes to manage whatever relates to the temporal support of the gospel and its ministers.

James Tabor had the Temerity to Pretend

His essay is longwinded. I'll go straight to the salient point:

Corpse revival is not resurrection of the dead–at least in its classic sense of what happens to all humankind in the end of days. This might be the view of a child who does not yet understand the idea, or metaphorically one could speak of the dead “coming out of their tombs,” as in the famous Michael Jackson video “Thriller,” but no one thought of it literally that way in terms of what would happen at the end of days.

There are two kinds of corpse revival.

A temporary corpse revival, later followed by dying again, is not the resurrection of the dead. But there is also a definitive corpse revival, for most of us reserved to the end of days.

By the way, neither involves anything like undead, corpses moving without real restoration of biology. So, "Thriller" is simply a strawman.

Now, the point is, from the fact that the definitive corpse revival at the end of days is NOT the same thing as a temporary one, James Tabor has concluded it is not a corpse revival at all.

He offers what he purports to be proof of this idea, in a verse of St. Paul.

Paul is the crystal clear on this point. Some of his converts in the city of Corinth were denying the resurrection of the dead. They were most likely thinking along the lines of Plato—if the immortal soul is freed from the prison of the body at death, why would it ever return to the body? And yet that is precisely what Paul defended—a return to a body—but as he makes very clear, it is not a natural or “physical body”—the one he calls the body of “dust,” but a spiritual body—literally “wind body,” (pneumatikos), that is transformed and not subject to death (1 Corinthians 15:42-50).

Well, the body is transformed. It's physically different. But it's not physically another one. It's not physically similar on all accounts, but it is physically the same.

Tabor is recycling the doctrines about Jesus' body which have been used to deny the Eucharist ("he has no flesh and blood that can bilocate miraculously" some* have pretended), and also to deny Our Lady remains Mother of God ("she is not mother of THAT body" the same ones* have pretended).

These doctrines involve a pretty clear over-interpretation of the difference of adjectives in the verse of St. Paul, and a clear under-interpretation of the pronouns He uses.

It is sown a natural body, it shall rise a spiritual body. If there be a natural body, there is also a spiritual body, as it is written
[1 Corinthians 15:44]

While there is a change of natural to spiritual, there is an identity of it and it.

This is a doctrine of Albigensians, perhaps also back then of Waldensians, and the Church answered** them:

Indeed, having suffered and died on the wood of the cross for the salvation of the human race, he descended to the underworld, rose from the dead and ascended into heaven. He descended in the soul, rose in the flesh, and ascended in both. He will come at the end of time to judge the living and the dead, to render to every person according to his works, both to the reprobate and to the elect. All of them will rise with their own bodies, which they now wear, so as to receive according to their deserts, whether these be good or bad; for the latter perpetual punishment with the devil, for the former eternal glory with Christ.

Now, James Tabor has pretended something else. He has basically suggested that if Jesus' bones were found, and they were undisputably Jesus', then the resurrection belief of St. Paul, pretendedly prior to narratives by St. Matthew and others, would be restored to its "full" sense.

His post alleges, like the rigmarole of Higher Criticism has pretended since the 19th C., that Paul is earlier than Mark, and Mark way earlier than Matthew, Luke and John. This is not the traditional authorship assignment, it rests purely on reconstruction, and that reconstruction rests purely on conjectures biassed against the Christian faith. And obviously St. Paul is misread in I Cor, and St. Mark gets the shorter ending, just so one can pretend that Jesus somehow didn't physically appear to the disciples. Stamping accounts as "legendary" is supposed to guarantee they are non-factual, and pretending gratuitously they are late is supposed to guarantee there was time for mistakes to creep into the "legend" and even mistakes of this order.

I do not believe in this kind of epistemology. I have already said and will say it again, I prefer believing most of Hercules' life is factual over believing oral tradition inevitably degrades into a telephone game that inevitably garbles the original facts. And by the way, the parts of Hercules' life that are not factual, that's not mostly due to the passing of time, that's mostly due to misunderstandings and deliberate lies (on his own part and on parts of others) while he lived. The exception would be Alcestis, plagiarised from Elias raising the widow's dead son. The kind of reconstruction that Tabor does while pretending to be a Christian is an institutional insanity.

As to Hercules getting up into the Olympus, that's precisely in the kind of unverifiable likeness that is only liberated through the destruction of the physical body, and so it is simply a guess (or a private revelation, not an actual observation) in those first telling that. Tabor is reducing the Resurrection of Jesus to this level.

* I'm sorry, I'll have to be imprecise. I refer to debates held on FB and initially copied to my blog HGL's F.B. writings, but then taken down, so my answer to that evil doctrine was not left documented as I wanted to. There was another post from debates with Protestants which was also taken down, and that one documented two Evangelical women who harrassed me taking turns for about a month, whenever I logged in to FB.

Les Kapos.

Pourquoi ?

Many kapos were subject to reprisals, including mass lynchings, immediately upon the liberation of concentration camps. For example, thousands of prisoners had been transferred from the Mittelbau-Dora camp to the Bergen-Belsen camp in April 1945. While not in good health, these prisoners were in far better condition than those in Bergen-Belsen. Upon the camp's liberation on 15 April 1945, these prisoners attacked their former overseers. Overall, roughly 170 Kapos were lynched.[7]*

During the 1946-47 Stutthof trials in Gdańsk, Poland, in which Stutthof concentration camp personnel were prosecuted, five kapos were found to have used extreme brutality and were sentenced to death. Four of them were executed on 4 July 1946, and one on 10 October 1947. Another was sentenced to three years' imprisonment and one acquitted and released on 29 November 1947.[8][9]

The Israeli Nazis and Nazi Collaborators (Punishment) Law of 1950, most famously used to prosecute Adolf Eichmann in 1961 and Ivan Demjanjuk in 1986, was originally introduced with the principal aim of prosecuting Jewish people who collaborated with the Nazis.[10][11] Between 1951 and 1964, approximately 40 trials were held, mostly of people alleged to have been kapos.[11] Fifteen trials are known to have resulted in convictions, but scant details are available since the records were sealed in 1995 for a period of 70 years from the trial date.[11] One person – Yehezkel Jungster – was convicted of crimes against humanity, which carried a mandatory death penalty, but the sentence was commuted[12][11] to two years in prison. Jungster was pardoned in 1952, but died a few days after his release.[13][14]

Should I Thank Protestants Who Worry? No. · Brother.M and Peter Wallis Continued

Trump, I'm Disappointed

New blog on the kid: There are Some I'd Have Preferred Over Trump · Trump, I'm Disappointed · Seems that Some Took Issue with a Description of Lebensborn · Assorted retorts from yahoo boards and elsewhere: Something Tells Me, Peter Sonski would NOT Have Promised Mass Deportations

"I will not sign a federal abortion ban"

... and now one of your supporters told abortion seekers "if you need that care" ...

Also, I heard sth about 15 weeks.

Do you mean you intend to overturn the laws of "six week states"?

If it's meant to be a max for the abortion liberal ones, that's a different issue, but still ...

Meanwhile, 15 weeks goes beyond the "normal case" 12 week limit of Sweden, similar to previously France, which raised it to 14 weeks.

However, you have consistently have fewer abortions per 1000 live births than both Sweden and France. Some say, this proves "it's not a question of resources" ... not totally off, but not totally right either. It's true that Sweden and France will give more doles than most states and cities in the US.

But there are things that are more numerous in the US — like opportunities for teens to marry. Or for pregnant teens to just arrange things with the family, without social services poking. What Sweden spends on the poor, on tax payer expense, well, half goes to the pockets of the poor (and sometimes just to their fridges), but half actually goes to the guys who run the lives of our poor poor ... often to their disadvantage.

And part of that is, Sweden has stricter age limits for marriage. The general public in Sweden would stamp things in the US like paedophilia, simply because some states allow marriage below 18 and especially even below 15.

I think Russia has lots of that left from the Soviet era. Sweden got our sexual morality corrupted from that region, the league for sex education, abortion and condoms that's RFSU is founded by a Lutheran clergyman's daughter, but it received moral support and ideological fill-ins from a certain Aleksandra Kollontai. Diplomat at the Soviet embassy in Sweden.

At least, at the very least, keep teen marriages in the US legal! I'm not a Nazi. I believe Austro-Fascism and the régime of Franco were LOTS better than Nazi Germany. But then, in Spain and in Austria, a girl didn't have to wait to 18 or 21 before getting married.

Teen marriages are better than Lebensborn. But abortions are way worse.

Still, even so, I'm relieved it was not Kamala Harris who won.

Also, I'd appreciate not to have people given powers over the homeless to force them on tax payer money into half way houses.

Are Nones a Religion?

I'm reading a résumé from French FSSPX News.

Catholics are c. 25 % of the voters, voted 56 % Trump, 40 % Harris.
Protestants are c. 40 % of the voters, voted 60 % Trump.
Nones are c. 20 % of the voters, voted 75 % Harris.

I think there are definite cultural trends, some of them fairly new, that have been spreading through the Nones.

If Nones were just outsiders to religions on an individual basis, had no community of their own, this would not be the case.

But if Bill Nye and Neil de Grasse Tyson are in a position to act as Popes of the community and have spread this kind of thing, well, that's much more explicable.

Now, I'll admit that Nones are not an organised religion, or they don't fulfil one of the criteria. Neither were the very different Jesus People. Neither is New Age. You didn't and don't join by formal applications and with informed consent to formal requirements of membership. You join sth much more nebulous because that's what you feel like, it resonates with you and ... if it doesn't resonate with you tomorrow, when you see another aspect, unless you have long been part of the team, people are not really all that likely to notice. OK, there are some guys, if you have been part of the team, who will probably think of you as an apostate, and act accordingly, I think this has been both seen in the case of New Age and in the case of Feminism, which is one of the more core communities of Nones.

But still, there is sufficiently much of a cohesive community to make them show up a more unified vote than either Catholics or Protestants.

"Atheism is a religion, like bald is a hair colour" ... welcome back to reality!/HGL

PS, there was one already recognised religion which actually did show just a bit more cohesion than Nones. "Born Again" were voting 80 % (five percent units more) for Trump. They were c. 20 % of the overall voters, like Nones, and so c. half of the Protestants. If we have 25 % Catholics, 40 % Protestants, 20 % Nones, adding up to 85 %, I'm not sure what the remaining 15 % are, but they are too few to be counting the "Born Again" as separate from Protestants. They would instead include Jews, Muslims, Hindoos, Buddhists, but not sure how much more and also not sure in what proportions./HGL

Je me réveille 5:30.

Nenni. Regardez :

They're lying to you. Ozempic users are dying.

Some Guys on CMI Might be Overdoing Work Ethic

New blog on the kid: Some Guys on CMI Might be Overdoing Work Ethic · HGL's F.B. writings: My Writings are NOT Outflows from My Innermost Devotion and are NOT Meant to be Seen and Read by God Alone

Two quotes (see source below) might illustrate this.

How much does God want us to work?

God worked for six days and rested on the seventh as an example to us. He created us to need to sleep at night, and also to need a break from working. When God rescued the people of Israel from slavery in Egypt, He gave them a special gift. They never got a day off when they were slaves of the Egyptians, but to show them that He is a kind God, He gave them the Sabbath—one whole day of rest every week!

Having a day to rest is an opportunity to show we trust God to give us what we need. And God also gave Israel extra days off to worship, they were like huge parties for the whole nation!

God not just gave Israel three great feasts, which indeed were like huge parties and at which wine or shekhar (something like date-cider / bread-beer) were enjoined*, but also gave a Israel the right to proclaim more feast, also like huge parties, and we know at least two of them, namely Purim and Hanukkah. Their origins are described in Esther and Maccabees. We know from John 10:22 that Jesus observed Hanukkah.

This is important, since the Church also has the right to proclaim feasts, starting with the reinterpretation of the three great feasts and their displacing to other days, and with the displacing of Sabbath to Sunday, arguably already by the Apostles. However, there are more and more things to celebrate, and therefore more and more days off.

This is a good thing. Parts of the evils of the 16th C. Deformations and the later Modernisations and Revolutions were abolitions of Christian feasts, and this benefitted mainly employers and (for Communism) central planners.

So, let's not give the impression the ONLY times we have a right to a day off is once a week plus when God Himself mandated a feast!

Did Jesus work?

We know that Jesus was a carpenter, like His adopted father, Joseph. Carpentry was hard work, and they didn’t get paid a lot, so Jesus had to work really hard. Joseph probably died sometime after Jesus was 12 years old, so Jesus would have had to work to provide for His mother Mary and His siblings until His ministry started. Jesus’ disciples worked too; several of them were fishermen, another job that required a lot of hard work!

Catholic tradition would have contributed to give the impression St. Joseph died just shortly before Jesus was Baptised.

The guys on CMI suppose Jesus was supporting younger siblings, there weren't any. The youngest child who naturally came from St. Joseph, St. James the Brother of God, was born just before Joseph's first wife died. The Blessed Virgin was his second wife. Jesus would if anything have been supported by St. Joseph's older children, if he had died earlier than when Jesus was going on thirty.

That carpentry was badly paid is not necessarily true. A trouser or, for back then, a tunic, lasts longer than the bread or fish for a meal. But a house lasts longer than a garment.** Therefore, it would tend to get accordingly well paid. As far as we know there were no huge conglomerates of carpenters who would outcompete individual small business, underpay the employees and try to sell all of this first to non-carpenters by temporarily underpricing the product. There were no usurers who could have financed that behaviour, taking money from a fellow Israelite for a loan was forbidden***. So, probably a carpenter was fairly well paid and small business. He was however not among the posh.°

Fishermen would probably be more exhausted by their work than carpenters. Both had moments of carrying or pulling, but the other moments would be colder and night shift for fishermen.

The existence of disciples was, apart from fishing trips, definitely less physical work. Precisely as a university student is working less with other things than the brain than a building worker or off-shore fishing ship mate.

The fact of physical work is in itself honourable, as thereby we acquit ourselves of the debt owed by Adam, but the lack of it is not always dishonourable. Like when compensated by studying or by teaching. Or printing. Or writing.

* They are and were licit in moderation at other times too, except special days like fast days, Yom Kippur or Good Friday tend to be alcohol free, and for special people, like the Nazorites in the Old Testament or (less strictly) the Benedictine monks in the New Testament.
** I tend to take the view that the "labour hours" view of value is false, the "usefulness" view is correct.°° Obviously a loaf of bread is more necessary than clothing, but the clothing lasts longer. The house lasts longer than the piece of clothing. This kind of value will roughly speaking coincide with work hours value, but not always.

Pregnant by Rape at 14 ... Argument For or Against What?

Here we have a rape victim saying, it is NOT an argument for abortion. Hear her yourselves:

Pregnant from rape at 14, Crystal rejected abortion - FULL INTERVIEW

I would say it IS however an argument AGAINST school compulsion and AGAINST boys and girls past the puberty going to same schools. On the latter one, see Pope Pius XI:

68. False also and harmful to Christian education is the so-called method of "coeducation." This too, by many of its supporters, is founded upon naturalism and the denial of original sin; but by all, upon a deplorable confusion of ideas that mistakes a leveling promiscuity and equality, for the legitimate association of the sexes. The Creator has ordained and disposed perfect union of the sexes only in matrimony, and, with varying degrees of contact, in the family and in society. Besides there is not in nature itself, which fashions the two quite different in organism, in temperament, in abilities, anything to suggest that there can be or ought to be promiscuity, and much less equality, in the training of the two sexes. These, in keeping with the wonderful designs of the Creator, are destined to complement each other in the family and in society, precisely because of their differences, which therefore ought to be maintained and encouraged during their years of formation, with the necessary distinction and corresponding separation, according to age and circumstances. These principles, with due regard to time and place, must, in accordance with Christian prudence, be applied to all schools, particularly in the most delicate and decisive period of formation, that, namely, of adolescence; and in gymnastic exercises and deportment, special care must be had of Christian modesty in young women and girls, which is so gravely impaired by any kind of exhibition in public.
