HSBC BANK PLC LONDON.(REGISTERED NO.1026167).
ADDRESS: 8 CANADA SQUARE, CANARY WHARF, LONDON E14 5HQ, UK.

Attn: Beneficiary,

We write to inform you that Series of meetings have been held with the Secretary General of United Nations,U.S Department of State, the meeting ended this week.5

During the meeting we discovered that you have not receive your long overdue part payment of US$21.5M due to past corrupt Government Officials who almost held the funds to themselves for their selfish reason and some individuals who have taken advantage in an attempt to defraud you, which has led to unnecessary delay in releasing the funds to you.

The United Nations/ U.S. Department of State have successfully passed a payment mandate to our bank, to clear all over due Contract funds, Lottery winnings, Inheritance/Investment funds owed to you and other individuals/organizations who have been found not to have receive their long overdue payment.

A woman by name (MRS: CINDY MAY A CITIZEN OF USA)6 submit an application to our bank stating that you gave her the power of attorney to be the beneficiary of your Outstanding fund. She made us to believe that you are dead and that she is your next of kin. We decided to send you email through this address hoping to find out if you are dead or alive and also to find out if you at any time gave her the power of attorney to represent you, we decided to contact you before we can take any action because of the sensitivity nature of the transaction and the amount of money that is involved:

For immediate release of your $21.5M to you legally as the legal recipient if you are alive and did not authorize her at any time, you are required to reconfirm YOUR FULL NAME, CURRENT ADDRESS AND DIRECT CELL PHONE NUMBER7 for onward proceeding on how you are going to receive the said funds legally without any problem either now or in future. Treat as urgent.

Yours Sincerely,

Mr. Noel Quinn8
HSBC Chief Executive Officer .

Footnotes that show what was wrong:

1 CAPS ALL OVER THE HEADLINE - real bankers don't do that. Not in the West, at least.
2 ownmail.net is hardly the domain name one would use for writing officially from "HSBC London Office"
3 It is very suspicious that the "reply to" mail does another adress than the "from" mail.
4 It is equally very suspicious that I am an undisclosed recipient in a letter directed to only such ones.
5 It is highly improbable that both the Secretary General of UNO and the US Department of state should participate in one meeting about a bank account. Neither of them is in London, by the way. The grammar of the sequence doesn't quite make clear if it is "and" or if he intended both to be synonymous or if he considered the secretary general was part of the US Department of State, which is ridiculous.
6 Bad grammar again, CAPS AGAIN.
7 Cell phone numbers don't come - yet - as conditions for doing bank business. If it ever does, that may be part of the final beast system.
8 The reply to mail had "henrybanko" and the signature has "Noel Quinn".
