Jupiter in Pisces, Right Now
Jupiter in Pisces, Right Now · Quibbles on "Jupiter in Pisces"
If you know periodicity of Jupiter, as 11.862 years, and know it's 52 years and 298 days since I was born, you can calculate that Jupiter has made 4 periods around the Sun, and about 45 % of the fifth.
If you further know that 5/12 is only 41 2/3 %, you can wonder whether it would be fifth or sixth sign from the one where it was back then.
It was the sixth sign, but, I would not have been able to guess that meant Jupiter in Pisces unless on my actual birth date Jupiter had been in Virgo.
Someone claimed, in order to make precise predictions, all you need to know about a planet is mass and distance from Sun. Plus assuming Newtonian Heliocentrism. Ergo, observations confirm Newtonian Heliocentrism.
Not so. If Jupiter had been in Pisces 4.45 periods back, Jupiter would have been in perhaps Virgo now. So, periodicity is not enough to know when a planet is where.
We still depend on past observations for predictions, and therefore these can be made by past observations analysed in Tychonian orbits as well, provided these have right ellipticity./HGL
