No, the Solway Firth Spaceman Mystery is NOT a Parallel Mystery Proving Spacemen as Much as the Shroud Proves the Resurrection

At least not yet.

Here is wiki:

The solution proposed by David Clarke is, the shape is actually Jim Templeton's wife.

Now, the overexposure would have caused blue dress to appear white, or it could be a sun reflection doing so. But this still doesn't explain why the back of the wife's head looks like the front of a spaceman's head.

In comes this video:

The claim is, basically, the actual head of the wife is just the black visor of the spaceman. The bulk of the spaceman suit's helmet, the white stuff around the visor, is the Moon. The video asked with my assessment of this theory:

My thoughts on the Moon Theory is, it can be tested.

A gibbous moon should be within 45° to each side of facing the Sun. Note, it could be 45° up or down, not just sideways.

A) Did the man take the picture with the Sun at his back? Many photographers would.
B) The shadow and time of day would help to reconstruct (but I couldn't do it) how the Sun was at this time. And given the position of the Sun to photographer and child, one could reconstruct the placement of the Moon and see if it matches.

So, no, I think there is plenty of reason against throwing up one's arms and saying "there are so many unexplainable things notably in imagery, the Shroud is just one more" ... because, I don't think the Cumberland Spaceman is even remotely one more./HGL
