There was another shooting the same day. A school shooting.
It seems Desmond Holly won't be standing trial in this world, he speeded up to his judge by the extra gun shot of suicide, it would seem.

In a shooter just sixteen, especially committing suicide after it, I'd suspect misery at school was at play./HGL
