What Does Antisemite Mean?

It has a range of meanings, and "hatred of Jews as Jews" is just one or two of them.

It seems "The Church of Satan" was accused of it, and on 28th of June 2022 the twitter account replied:

In other words, they seem to have no problem socialising with Jews.

Probably, the accusation of Antisemitism was about a dislike for the Old Testament God.

Then there is "hatred" or "promoting hatred"... and then there are simply positions deemed "Antisemite" by many Jews and by their friends.

I happen to have some of those, like a dislike for usury or psychiatry or persistent testing of someone about the consistency of his judgements when he's at the other end. Which starts to seem to me to be a Jewish hobby alternative to psychiatry. Or like taking the Catholic and not the Jewish side in a historic quarrel between the two communities (it may come as a shocker, I am Catholic - and some seem to be so tolerant of a Catholic saying he's Catholic, but are very much less so when it comes to the Catholic taking the Catholic side rather than the side they favour over Catholicism - not always only their own community, Lutherans and Anglicans have a tendency to favour Jews over Catholics, Jews sometimes favour Calvinists and often Liberals over Catholics ...).

But does that mean I hate Jews or would promote actual hatred of Jews? No. I have simply taken another position, and therefore also other sides in certain quarrels - sometimes without knowing where the Jewish stakes were in them. And I still dislike the rejection of the God of the Old Testament, as actual Antisemitism, close to that of Antiochus Epiphanes./HGL
