That Lewis Carroll and C. S. Lewis are not the same author, not close relatives, not morally equivalent to each other.
Some have reasoned, only perverted people can enjoy John Ronald Reuel Tolkien or his friend Clive Staples Lewis. I don't think these villagers are very closely related to the late Jimmy Savile or to Jeffrey Epstein, or that they'd applaud smut:
