I'm noting Nadine Strossen thinks that a five year sentence was ridiculously low.
Fine, there is sth to be said about it, but ... after the killing of Horst Wessel, Albrecht Höhler got only six years. Now, to the point that Hitler served only 8 months, Höhler actually did serve 3 years, and then he was pulled out of prison and illegally executed by the National Socialists once they were in power.
So, NS weren't the only political killers that German justice was lenient on during the era of the II Reich known as "Weimar Republic" ...
Would disagree on teachers for students.
Parents for minors, fair enough, and parents for actual children, obviously. But teachers for students, well, usually the teachers weren't chosen by the parents. The parents usually were required to send their children to a school they didn't actively chose, sometimes even against their clear preferences.
