Marriage isn't one.
A romance leading up to marriage, like between the real life persons Laura and Almanzo also isn't one.
But pretending to be in love on stage, while having never had an affair (let alone marriage) is one.
And affairs arranged for money with very powerful people who absolutely are not going to blow up their secret by allowing any marriage to ensue also is one.
In fact, I'm not sure these are appropriate for any age, especially not the latter./HGL
