With the Vast Majority of Views in Commie Vietnam, I Wonder Why a Canadian is Bent on Keeping Me Back

Assorted retorts from yahoo boards and elsewhere: Influencers are not clergy, scandals aren't reasons to change longstanding discipline · New blog on the kid: With the Vast Majority of Views in Commie Vietnam, I Wonder Why a Canadian is Bent on Keeping Me Back

In case it isn't clear, Brian Holdsworth is Canadian.

STILL nope and no again!

Influencer is still not bishop and a bad influencer, having no responsibility for the spiritual life of the audience is not doing actual damage, unless their legitimate pastors are allowing it.

I don't know anyone who lost the faith over Voice of Reason, and I don't think there will be anyone either.

Plus with this kind of thing, stating "so and so isn't living his faith very well" can become a way of silencing someone for other reasons.

[I tried to add the below, down to second quote, and the above was already gone.]

Uh 1:58 Mike Winger, who is a Protestant 2:00 apologist with a prominent YouTube 2:02 channel, seems to almost be converting 2:04 his channel into investigative 2:06 journalism dedicated to exposing moral 2:09 corruption that he is aware of in 2:11 evangelical Christianity. And already he 2:14 has a lot of pretty upsetting stories to 2:17 tell.

Sounds a bit like what would interest Calvinists.

1) There is no formal spiritual direction, except a collective one.
2) There is no sacrificial clergy.

MEANING

Every pastor among them is first and foremost an influencer, like a Rabbi or an Imam.

This in turn means, influencers are seen as pastor wannabes, and obviously scrutinised accordingly.

PROBABLY

at some point, someone told someone who then told someone, there is compromat on me from my past, and if I'm accepted as an influencer, it will come forward.

"And that will damage the faith"

No, I don't think it will, and I don't think the amount of compromat is quite what some think it is.

I'M GETTING PRETTY TIRED (and sick too) of being told while not being told why a prolific an intellectual apologist in my case has absolutely to be kept back.

I'm being told it by suggestion. But I'm also not being told it, because you are not specifically mentioning me.

AND it is not as if I just imagined being held back, it's 14 700 + posts, over six millions of views*, very few changes of mind, a pretty solid word count per day, and I am not being answered, not being promoted, but also not explicitly countered.

The non-explicit countering involved in not answering me (while by suggestion still answering me in private) is pretty close to what Pope St. Pius X described as a "conspiracy of silence".

*[The viewers from mainly Nam last week, see Trois semaines. The week to 21.I.2026 has 31,01 k overall, but 7,55 k from Nam. The week to 28.I.2026 has 41,19 k overall, but 8,3 k from Nam, which was actually second country, after Singapore, 20,81 k that week. AND the week to 4.II.2026 has a total of 36,09 k, but of these 21,79 k are from Nam.]

"I've often felt 0:40 dismayed by the culture of celebrity 0:42 that gets attached to evangelistic work 0:45 and and all the trappings that come 0:47 along with it, which, let's be honest 0:50 here, they're utterly incompatible with 0:52 apostolic work,"

Oh, yeah?

Venerable Fulton Sheen? So much of a celebrity that the Dracula cape in Tomb of Dracula is arguably based on how he wore a cape once upon a time.

And good friends with precisely another celebrity, Billy Graham.

You are arguably calling one of the two following celebrities, also good friends with each other, a Pope and a Saint: Wojtyla and Dalai Lama (yes, Tenzin Gyatso is still wearing that title).

Incompatible would mean Fulton Sheen and Karol Wojtyla were doing Evangelism wrong. I'd agree about Wojtyla, but for a very different reason or set of reasons. But probably you'd neither agree about Wojtyla nor Sheen, meaning your sentence is in contradiction with your positions otherwise.
