What Israel Seems Not to Understand About Aid to Gaza

I have from two sources heard, the reason for the blockade is, when aid is allowed by UNWRA, Hamas takes the aid, sells it, and buys weapons.

First, the blockade is of longer standing.

But second, UNWRA being a united nations organism has to collaborate with civil authorities of the country or region. And the de facto civil authorities of Gaza are the Hamas.

Now, a boat like Madleen, or a truck coming from Tunisia through Egypt is in a very different position.

They don't have to positively collaborate with Hamas, they only need to be tolerated by Hamas. They can distribute food where they see the need.

Now, when Egypt, as ally of Israel, against Islamism, is beating down truckers who try to bring aid, this is not an example of how Israel is needed to combat Islamic values, it's an example of how Israel is fine with collaborating with a certain type of Islamic values when it suits them.

Hence, I am not sure that Israel absolutely doesn't understand what a difference Madleen or the Soumoud Caravan could make compared to UNWRA. It may be very tactical.
