https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lois_Jules_Ferry

2026 - 1881 = 145

Secularists Don't Like That

I Am Catholic. I Don't Desire Jewish Substitute Parents Either as Guardians or as Adoptive Parents · I am a Catholic. I Don't Desire Muslim Substitute Children · I am Catholic · Secularists Don't Like That

Secularists don't like that I'm Catholic.

One Swede followed me around on the Goth site Helgon, and regularly called me a narcissist.

Among other things for believing God exists and will look after me.*

Another Swede, a woman this time, posed a question which I took to be personal. This was on Quora, and the site is made the way, if I get kicked out of or deconnect from Swedish Quora, I also do so from English, French, Spanish and so on. I reacted by saying, I am not amused by questions of psychology. She started giving reasons why I should fins psychology great, I dismissed this in really low, but to my mind not disproportionately so, terms.

Just after that, yesterday I get a question if any religion has traumatised me, and today, from that person, that woman, a question what I thought about the fact that some will be called out as narcissists when they are in fact traumatised.

I actually am somewhat traumatised. By Sweden. And by its dominant religions, psychology, evolution, science.

The two of them are pretty obviously trying to pathologise expressions of my Catholic faith.

I said abortion is murder? "Oh, he's a callous narcissist, who doesn't care about the feelings of women" — "No, he's traumatised by a strong indoctrination in Catholicism."

I count on getting a publisher? "He's a narcissist who thinks the world owes him a living?" — "No, he's traumatised by whoever is using him."

I show a certain confidence in my own alternatives to mainstream science (yes, apart from accepting most of Creation science, I have done contributions of my own)? "He's a narcissist who thinks he knows better than all scientists combined, when he has no science degree!" — "No, he's traumatised and doesn't dare to look at the evidence for fear of Hell."

I don't spend hours worrying about what would happen if I were to run on the German autobahn in the direction opposite the direction, on a day when cars are running fast. I simply don't feel any urge of doing such a thing and therefore no acute fear about what would happen if I did. The one half hour in my life when I was really tempted against the faith, was a temptation to Calvinism, which I obviously rejected.

I also see no reason to fear looking at evidence. Standing by the side of a German autobahn trying to hitchhike may be illegal, but it's mostly and inherently not the risk I just took as an example, and similarily, looking at evidence doesn't the least inspire me to doubt Catholicism or Young Earth Creationism or Geocentrism.

It's neither narcissism nor trauma to believe I know the age of the earth better than earth scientists. I don't believe I'm God. I believe I stand by God's written word. I believe every peace of evidence I don't have a Young Earth Creationist explanation for, actually has one, even if it was not for me to see it. I believe team St. Thomas Aquinas and St. Augustine of Hippo beats team Lyell and Darwin. I don't believe I'm very great in the team of Catholic Young Earth Creationists, just that I had a few solutions at a timely moment when nobody else had them and still have so.

But one thing has a somewhat traumatising effect on me. Sweden. Its insistance that, whether as a narcissist or a traumatised victim of sectarian abuse, of an abusive cult, whatever I say cannot be what I actually and honestly am convinced of for at least moderately rational reasons. Its insistance that, I don't say anything worth listening to until I tell a Swedish shrink what's wrong with me or "the symptoms" so the shrink can determine what's wrong. The cult abuse I have survived, and not caved in to on the doctrinal front, is Swedish secularism. I don't think North German would be better.

Two Pretenses I'm Out Naive and Narcissistic Subverted

Narcissism.

I'm pretendedly narcissist, since I think I, a non-professional in fields, can discover things that have been missed by professionals for decades.

New things can be discovered, and they can be discovered by non-professionals, as Lee Sallows discovered this:

Naiveté.

I state that there is no specific mechanics in God's omnipotence. Or in a created spirit's power over matter.

I state that these things are fundamentals, the basis of explanations, not things that can properly speaking by explained by any simpler fundamentals. Naive, right?

Sabine Hossenfelder thinks one can consider electromagnetism a fundamental. I e, you cannot explain it by reference to simpler fundamentals.

We Are Not Just Consumers

And "society" only exists as collections of "me's" and "us's".

Both of these obvious facts should go a far way to show what's wrong with Dylan Allman's The Ego vs. The Machine.

Here is a very telling paragraph:

But here’s the hard pill to swallow: Your insecurities should not hold back the tide of innovation. The ego’s fragility should never be the yardstick by which societal progress is measured. When you subordinate technological and creative advancement to the preservation of your own self-importance, you engage in a form of collective narcissism that serves no one.

And here is another one:

When you react defensively to technological advancements that challenge your skill set, you are acting out of a false sense of self-interest at the expense of broader societal progress that would ultimately benefit you, along with everyone else. You’re hurting everyone, including yourself, because you don’t want your ego damaged. It is rather awful. If you can’t win in the marketplace, you are not a victim. You deserve to lose.

So, if "society" is a collection of egos, or of collections of them, what does "societal progress" even mean, when pitted against "egos"?

And if the people who promote "societal progress" are so eager to pretend it benefits "you, along with everyone else" why are they (I suppose Dylan Allman represents some kind of "legio") so eager to at the same time pretend "you deserve to lose"?

Society is not an organism, and we are not its cells. We don't live for "society" and pretending we do is a much deeper flaw of Marxism than any collectivism in specific economic arrangements. Society is however the environment in which we usually live. Or societies are the environments. Not all of them are equally good or equally bad for any given man. I have on purpose left Sweden, at first imagining to get to Austria, but then getting to France. Because the three societies are of unequal value to me, Sweden probably the worst.

But society is for this reason a thing we act about — not just on the market, but also in politics and in writing or other kinds of publications. I see a young man, identifying himself with self flattery beyond "narcissism" (whatever that might mean) with "the tide of innovation" ... and telling people who dislike that "tide" to step aside. Electricity is made with tidal power, not so much with human muscle power. I do not see massive interests among the general population to identify with this self flattery. If anything, some people are keenly aware, it will not be seen kindly by some to oppose it. Therefore they'll shut up and put up, or even fawn on the tendency they feel to weak to fight, even in words.

But on top of that, he is superstitious about what AI can do:

AI models are doing precisely what human brains have done for millennia—absorbing, synthesizing, and regenerating ideas. The difference is that they do it faster, more efficiently, and unburdened by ego or the illusion of originality.

In fact, AI can deal in colours defined by pixels, and it can deal in words defined by collections of letters. But it absolutely can't deal with ideas. It can give the illusion of doing so by being used with moderate doses or with lots of human corrections added. AI is also unburdened by any ambition of truth, or meaning, that's why it can work so fast.

However, there are ways to work around its weaknesses, and the Brilliant course with the publicity "are you worried about AI? — you should be worried about AMY" has got that right. And people like Dylan Allman could for some time wield such an advantage to the disadvantage of more traditional competition. My point is less to propose a concrete measure, though I must say that France is better than UK in many ways precisely because La Jacquerie was more successful than the Luddites. It is more to ask people to call out and contradict ideologues of progress like him.

He pretends that our expression of choice on the market place is sacrosanct, and all other expressions of choice are suspect or even evil. This seems very much like the hypocrisy of Constitution Cynics who pretend that the ones abstaining from voting or forming parties they can wholeheartedly vote for deserve to have their lives ruled by those who do vote for parties they can wholeheartedly identify with, or who form or are active in such parties.

As for positive arguments, Dylan offers none, he replaces them with a kind of psychoanalysis of the resistance.

As if the fact a shrink can find a chink in a personality, when looking hard enough, when being biassed enough, proved anything.

Meanwhile, he presumes what he should have been proving, and calls this presumption being "brutally honest" ...

At a Certain Time, Lots of People were Reading Thomas Anthony Harris

Assorted retorts from yahoo boards and elsewhere: Doctor Gavin Ashenden is Mainly Right · Taylor Marshall and a Franciscan are Discussing the Pseudo-Term Narcissist · New blog on the kid: At a Certain Time, Lots of People were Reading Thomas Anthony Harris

I know it thanks to Dr. Gavin Ashenden, who mentioned his magnum opus I'm OK – You're OK.

Even clergy read him. Back when he was fashionable, no doubt more often Anglican and Lutheran Borad Church clergy than Catholic clergy, and where Catholic clergy followed suit (US, France, Netherlands) is arguably the main areas where clergy committing abuse of children and abuse of teens, heterosexual and homosexual abuse, mainly occurred. Sweden and Poland would have been less infected by that.

Now clergy are regretting having read it. Dr. Gavin Ashenden, a Catholic layman who was once an Anglican "bishop," is one who has reacted against this cult of Harris' first work (he published with his wife a sequel in 1985, which is called Staying OK, which was less read).

My fear is that such people will now exchange the cult of one psychiatrist, Th. A. Harris, for the cult of some other one, like perhaps Jordan Peterson.

There was a time, back in Chesterton's day, when Catholic clergy did moral theology independently of either Harris or Peterson. Probably, at least that is my impression, landing somewhere between the two.

Back then, also, they were probably less likely to de facto cooperate with de facto Commie type psychiatrists, like those of Sweden, against the liberty of a "patient" who is "attended to by Them" (reference to Experiment House*) because he is simply the kind of person with the kind of positions that Commies have a habit of detesting and silencing, among other things by psychiatry.

A clergy which continues this kind of cooperation, and which therefore scurries back and forth between poles like Harris and Peterson is basically making itself a harlot to these non-Catholic and anti-Catholic ideologies.**

Should Catholic Pro-Lifers Support Police Setting People Up with Counselling?

Although my birthmother was thrilled to meet me, she did tell me that she actually went to two back-alley abortionists and I was almost aborted. After the rape, the police referred her to a counselor who basically told her that abortion was the thing to do. She said there were no crisis pregnancy centers back then, but my birthmother assured me that if there had been, she would have gone if at least for a little more guidance. The rape counselor is the one who set her up with the back-alley abortionists.

InEnIm - is not really an anagram for Eminem ...

Incels.
Entitled persons.
Immature persons.

This is a kind of trilogy of people who, while not actually mad, in the sense of what modern shrinks tend to call psychotic, though that too is used outside actual madness, are still people that "responsible people" may feel a duty to not give what they want, at least not in big issues (concerning these - shall we say - issues).

A duty made from prejudice. A prejudice made from pseudo-science. A pseudo-science called psychology.

And a vicious circle. If you as "responsible person" feel you should collaborate with this, that and sundry, this means, this, that and sundry has better chances of avoiding the social positions of InEnIms. If you already have the social position of being stamped as InEnIm, this means "responsible persons" are not just withdrawing that support, but also doing what they can to get other people - like immature of age, as opposed to immature as persons - to withdraw theirs. This is likely to land you in less desirable situations, in which you risk standing out as an InEnIm for not just accepting the situation as it is. Even if it is gruesome, and even if the "responsible person" telling you to simply accept it would never dream of sharing your situation.

Speaking of not dreaming of sharing a situation. Being a bully victim is a very rapid road into being an incel. I don't think many girls really enjoy the prospective of getting into couple with a bully victim. Theoretically - and this obviously is a bonus for the bully victim - getting into couple with a popular girl may very well decrease or eliminate totally bullying. Girls however not seeing themselves as protectors (of men they consider as potential partners) will not really intuitively see this.

Two things have become different the last century or so to make this evil situation lots more common:

  • girls delaying marriage for longer
  • girls and boys more often being in coeducation in their teens by actually legal or at least societal obligation or need to stay in school.

Feminists theorise, this is all for the best of the girls. They get more and more options to get the real best possible partners, as they have more and more time to pick them, right?

Wrong. 100 % of the girls cannot share 20 % of the men (we don't want Harems or mass elimination of girls). Girls taking their time to pick and chose get abused, and girls refusing to get abused, actually get bullied too. Girls of 35 making a bad pick when they realise the good ones are gone have a worse deal than girls of 25 doing so. Why? Because on top of getting a less good husband, they also have fewer children, and their social life will depend more on that not so good husband.

It's worse for everyone. Including those the system is meant to favour.

That also includes the paedagogic measures taken about InEnIms ... since paedagogy is an alibi for systematically giving someone something else than he asks for, which is a rather dysfunctional society for one to navigate./HGL

So excited to watch this! Im constantly trying to explain the dangerous roots of these so called "harmless" conspiracy theories

RumRayven
Tbf, most of the time, in the modern era, when people talk about Atlantis, they are speculating what the original Plato allegory of it could have been alluding to. I've never really heard people ever really give credence to the Ignatius Donnelly stuff.

AlbertaGeek
@RumRayven Really? There are seemingly no end of videos pushing the idea that there was a real Atlantis. They almost always have much higher viewership than actual archaeology channels. The whole LAHT (Lost Ancient High Technology) thing is an industry unto itself.

Peter Windhorst
There is a saying - once you embrace one harmless conspiracy theory, it is not hard to open the doorway for others far less harmless and more dangerous.

Hans-Georg Lundahl
"Im constantly trying to explain the dangerous roots of these so called "harmless" conspiracy theories"

You mean you are a hysteric?

AlbertaGeek
@Hans-Georg Lundahl I personally don't understand how wanting to expose the rotten cores of a seemingly harmless fruit makes someone a "hysteric", but I can understand how a creationist like yourself would see such exposés as a bad thing.

Hans-Georg Lundahl
@AlbertaGeek Because Albertasaurus is under no Uintatherium and above no Dimetrodon, meaning you don't have Tertiary or Permian / Triassic?

I personally don't understand how wanting to expose the rotten cores of a seemingly harmless fruit makes someone a "hysteric",

to inform you - the same kind of hysteric who think you are an alcoholic beause you drink a pint of beer each evening. The same hysteric who thinks he can expose Catholicism by the use of Hislop ....

Let's call National Socialism out for the evils it actually had, like Eugenicism!

But not everything that's just half connected with something half connected with something half connected to it.

The New Age type Atlantis myth has its evils - but they are slight in comparison to what I think one should really bother about, and they are excusable in non-Christians who don't really know better - a bit like believing "dinosaurs died 66 million years ago" is pretty innocuous in itself compared to "man evolved from apes" (which is connected to the Atlantis New Ageism and even more closely to the real evils of National Socialism, like, for instance, Eugenics.

Unfortunately for the millions of years, they do tend to make a Biblical time scale about Adam unattainable logically. I've just called out Alex Pismenny on that ... if you want to see his response, if any, watch Assorted retorts on Sunday March 5!

@RumRayven affects a Jack Sparrow voice Clearly, you've never watched the 'History' channel

Hans-Georg Lundahl
@Ren Levy When, to whom, and what does that have to do with Atlantis?

Grrrr3(FKAGrrrrGrrrrGrrrr)
@RumRayven haven’t you heard of Graham Hancock? He is probably the most popular Atlantis proponent, he recently had a Netflix series and he goes on Joe Rogan’s podcast. Hancock’s version of the Lost Ancient Civilisation is just an updated version of Donnelly’s. Donnelly claimed that Plato was telling a true story, so there isn’t really a distinction there.

My initial comments
2:20 When some evil prayers separated me from the rosary, whether those of family members who are anti-Catholic, or SSPX-ers I didn't want to pray the rosary with (even in a remote spiritual communion) after it became apparent they prayed for my celibacy, not for my marriage, I probably escaped this blindness thanks to hypnosis videos and autohypnosis.

Evil Puritans (Evangelicals and Muslims + their collabos among Catholics, both Novus Ordo and SSPX) are trying to paint me as a man "relaxing too much, when I should work."

I do c. 2000 - 2500 words per day, but under lots more stress than most writers.

Some people consider my writing or my spreading of my writing an attack personally on them, even if I anonymise people who have been mean, or on their community, even if it is one I don't mention very much.

3:35 I think this guy would be a nicer husband and father if he slowed down a bit.

L P
Nicer husband? He seems like an ok guy. Not sure where you’re coming up with this judgement

Hans-Georg Lundahl
@L P I didn't say he wasn't nice.

I said he could be nicer.

Being able to just chill together seems not on the list for his close one's pleasures.

L P
@Hans-Georg Lundahl what? Why?

Hans-Georg Lundahl
@L P If he walks with his children, I bet he spends all of the way either running with them or carrying them quickly on his shoulders. Does he ever walk slowly through a park with them?

L P
@Hans-Georg Lundahl how do you know if he doesn’t? Bet??? Judgemental… Is that what Jesus would do? Did Jesus stay close to home, or did he not venture to spread the word.

Hans-Georg Lundahl
@L P Look, I first of all said I think meaning it was my personal impression.

Second, I didn't remotely say he was an actually bad husband and father, I said he could improve.

Third, I totally based it on his own words about not being able to slow down.

@L P "or did he not venture to spread the word."

He also slowed down very radically each night by praying.

Christian prayer would normally involve some degree of hypnotic state, at least prolonged prayer, which Jesus' prayers were.

@Hans-Georg Lundahl fine. How is your commenting and making far away assumptions supposed to be beneficial to this person, who will likely never see it? Were these comments meant to be productive to him, or did they maybe serve a purpose for you own ego instead?

Comment ils font?

1) offrir de la nourriture;
2) vérifier "que je mange correctement";
3) m'épuiser (en privations de sommeil) pour augmenter mon besoin de sucre (ce qui a un effet d'antabus);
4) faire prier des Chrétien en état de grâce et habitude de prière non troublé que je mange davantage de sucre ou d'autres trucs pour donc, "boire moins" ... s'ils sont génuines mais niais;

In Case Anyone Thinks of Me as Abuse Victim

  • a) it isn't over;
  • b) they may be the perps.

It seems there has been some speculation on part of certain people over here in France on whether I have suffered mental abuse.

Sure, I have so in the past. But it's not over.

Imagine there is some shrink speculating on whether my benefactor Stephan Borgehammar is the perp. He isn't. But if such a shrink has some power over my situation, he could be the one blocking a letter from Stephan from arriving, and that is abusive. I'm behind on washing, and I am also behind on some debates on the internet, not to mention some other things I could do, on and off the web.

It was not this Monday, not even last Monday, but Monday two weeks ago, that he sent his letter. It's not like Africa to, say, South America. It's Sweden to France, both within EU.

Let's say again, they note that I have a hard time to believe compliments or care for them, when coming from some.

  • a) x says I speak French well;
  • b) y has stated that my French is too poor to republish my writings from internet to books.

Now, x may give me 50 cents to 5 euro, y has delayed what could have made me not beg. Is it reasonable for me to fawn over the compliment of x, rather than fret over the insult of y, when y's attitude is costing me, especially as y has the market I'd need for getting paying readers? And as x isn't exactly over eager to actually provide, if not an alternative big market, ready made, at least a start by at least a small edition of 20 posts from my over 8500 ones?

X may even have contributed to the contrary, by speaking to some shrink in the neighbourhood about that worry. And shrink telling people, not to actually read my blogs and help me out, but to be nice to me, and avoid reading things which could make them angry with me and sabotage me.

Or, how about this:

  • a) x thinks me being Geocentric or Young Earth Creationist comes from abuse;
  • b) y is seemingly encouraging these thematics, and could therefore be the abuser.

For x, insert any crook in the neighbourhood where I stay, who has such prejudices against Geocentrism and Young Earth Creationism, and who also has a standing as some kind of shrink. For y, insert for instance Stephan Borgehammar. Then imagine x thinks he has to protect me against that "abuser" and then he tells police and the place where I get my mail, not to forward.

If that is the case, the precise person who thinks he's helping me against abuse is perpetrating the real one.

Certainly someone is./HGL

BUT when you said the things about respecting and being respected, I snickered as I thought of a man I'd like to punch on the face for how he is to this homeless guy ... it was kind of funnily not quite inappropriate in an ironic way!

Blog 37, on Auto Hypnosis Experience : XXXVI - Revisiting some Fairclough
https://hgl-hypno-journal.blogspot.com/2020/02/xxxvi-revisiting-some-fairclough.html

Classic Question with Me : Can Homosexuals Marry?

Well, it seems there is now a "Catholic" understanding of "homosexual" which would be better described as "sodomitic".

What is the difference?

Homosexuality according to CCC, I found out this morning, is "relations between men or women" etc. Where is that quote on the internet ... ah, thanks to google I found 2357:

Homosexuality refers to relations between men or between women who experience an exclusive or predominant sexual attraction toward persons of the same sex. It has taken a great variety of forms through the centuries and in different cultures. Its psychological genesis remains largely unexplained. Basing itself on Sacred Scripture, which presents homosexual acts as acts of grave depravity,141 tradition has always declared that "homosexual acts are intrinsically disordered."142 They are contrary to the natural law. They close the sexual act to the gift of life. They do not proceed from a genuine affective and sexual complementarity. Under no circumstances can they be approved.

My emphasis.

The words about "homosexual acts" are mainly correct, except that the clause "[t]hey do not proceed from a genuine affective and sexual complementarity," is too much "theology of the body" à la Wojtyla, and can also be wrong, since the lifegiving complementarity can be replaced in such relationships by a very genuine, if not good, complementarity of domination and submission or of mentorship. This formulation can indeed invite such couples to reply "but our complementarity is very genuine and also affective." Which is not a good reason to make any exception in favour of their homosexual relationship. The formulation could induce a left winger to make an exception and a hardliner to psychologise about their complementarity not being "genuine" on the affective plane. The real answer should be that such a genuine complementarity, but a different one from the lifegiving one of two sexes, does not matter.

Well, if being "homosexual" means being in a homosexual relationship, in couple with someone one's own sex, a "homosexual" cannot marry, he must get out of such a relationship first. And when he does, there is no longer "homosexuality" since there is no longer a homosexual relationship. And so, if eventually having got out of that he does marry, he is no longer a "homosexual" when he marries.

In this sense, "homosexuality" simply means "sodomy and sodomitics relationships".

However, I fear a glide on the meaning to a more normal psychological usage of the word is implied a little further down:

2359 Homosexual persons are called to chastity. By the virtues of self-mastery that teach them inner freedom, at times by the support of disinterested friendship, by prayer and sacramental grace, they can and should gradually and resolutely approach Christian perfection.

While "sacramental grace" could normally imply all and any sacraments, from Oscar Wilde's actual marriage to Constance Floyd to his death bed extreme unction, there are hints we are talking about the fact of "experienc[ing] an exclusive or predominant sexual attraction toward persons of the same sex" and not about being in a homosexual relation. For instance, while one is in a homosexual relationship, one is barred from receiving the sacraments, except in death bed cases. Therefore the use of the word "sacramental graces" implies one who has already repented of or so far avoided those horrible acts.

And would the paragraph imply that marriage is not part of the sacramental graces available?

The primary use of words like "self-mastery" and "support of disinterested friendship" seem to imply "chastity" in the first sentence means uniformly "celibate chastity". That is, an exclusion from marriage.

If a doctor were to receive a call from a man who said "I am homosexual, but this girl I'd like to marry, even if my sexual attraction is not strongest for her" perhaps that doctor would be inclined to say "it is a risky business, don't try it if you ask me". But some doctors would go further and refuse to hand out their preliminaries to a marriage licence in jurisdictions where it requires the advice from a medical doctor.

It seems to me, CCC 2359 is going in the same direction as such doctors. Happily, Chaput of Philadelphia is not taking it as that, since he mentioned Catholic cases corresponding to Mormons Josh and Lolly Weed (but without naming them), prior to their divorce.

But unfortunately, CCC 2359 is not explicitly condoning this solution of Chaput's, which is correct. And other pastors within the Vatican II Sect have other interpretations, close to what I consider it is suggesting.

Now, why is this unfortunate?

Forbidding to marry, to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving by the faithful, and by them that have known the truth. I Tim 4:3

Challoner exposes:

"Forbidding to marry, to abstain from meats": He speaks of the Gnostics, the Marcionites, the Eneratites, the Manicheans, and other ancient heretics, who absolutely condemned marriage, and the use of all kind of meat; because they pretended that all flesh was from an evil principle. Whereas the church of God, so far from condemning marriage, holds it a holy sacrament; and forbids it to none but such as by vow have chosen the better part: and prohibits not the use of any meats whatsoever in proper times and seasons; though she does not judge all kind of diet proper for days of fasting and penance.

In "and other ancient heretics" I would say Bishop Challoner is off. Why? Because the first verse of the chapter has :

in the last times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to spirits of error, and doctrines of devils,

Now, note, Challoner says of Catholicism, rightly, "forbids it to none but such as by vow have chosen the better part" which must mean in "chosen" the fact of eternal vows (preliminary vows like "entering a monastery" do not automatically in all cases forbid marriage and the Church does not apply it like that either).

Now, if Bishop Challoner had been here, someone could have asked him - or can ask anyone believing as he now - "none but such - you mean not even homosexuals?" And the response must be "not even homosexuals, unless they are currently in a homosexual relationship, that is unless they are also currently in the habit of sodomy."

Why is this important to some who is not homosexual in either definition of the word (whatever calumny may have said about ... for instance me)? Well, because some shrink (psychologist / psychiatrist) could claim someone is homosexual and then the pastor of a parish or a diocese or whatever use this "information" to stop someone from marrying. Which would fulfil "forbidding to marry".

Obviously, there are also other ideologies than more or less "eugenic" ones that forbid marriage, like feminism of a certain type (more fashionable in the 70's than recent decades) calling marriage a "women's trap" or a certain statism making the state decide if it allows a couple to marry, based on many and supple criteria (including but not limited to an official sensing a "gay" whether there is one or not) would equally be fulfilling this prophecy.

PS, I had other reasons than an apprehension of being object of calumny for taking a stand on this issue. For instance, debating on "helgon" (which I have left) against a self described homosexual and also homosexualist I defended the Catholic faith against the charge of discrimination against persons for things other than their acts, and in connexion with "gay marriage" vote in US, I tried to keep the legislation as it was, because it already allowed homosexual persons to marry (obviously, there are heterosexual couples who would also not be allowed marriage, as in full siblings or father and daughter or if one was severely under age and it was known - by the way, I am also arguing for traditional age limits)./HGL

When Should Evil be Exposed?

There are times when evil shows itself as evil.

A young man on a bike snatches a bag from an old woman and drags her on the ground while she hasn't let it go yet, she is bruised. No one in his senses doubts he is an evil young man.

There are times when what purports to be good also is good.

Suppose I had been begging for two hours without success, suppose I had previous to that been for more than three hours in a library where I did obviously not eat, suppose someone gives me a meal with moderate but adequate calories, there is no one who would consider that act as evil (starting pushing food on me as soon as I sit down even if I'm begging to wash is another matter, and continuing, so I get away overfed and underwashed, that is another matter, has also happened).

Then there are times when what is evil purports to be good.

Should we always expose it, just because evil deliberately hiding as a good it isn't is bad? Should we never expose it, just because we shouldn't pry behind the good pretences? Or should we expose it sometimes but other times not expose it?

I hold, sometimes it should be exposed and sometimes it should be let alone. If for instance Henry IV of France was in 2.VIII.1589 secretly a Calvinist or indifferentist playing for power, but pretending to be a Catholic, as a Catholic I think the Catholics who didn't expose him did a good job. Why? For one, it is impossible to know he was secretly still Calvinist, he could have been already convinced, but still being ill instructed have been unequipped to express it very clearly. For another, this allowed him, if not yet Catholic, the time to become one. When he got to correspond with Saint Francis of Sales, he at least became one.

There is another occasion where exposing evil is only of doubtful, if any, good. When Concentration Camps were exposed to big public as death camps (supposing they deliberately were so in an extreme way, and not just the "moderate" way already known, where you could get a death sentence for refusing to work), it was already 1945, the war against Hitler was already won, everyone who had contributed to this victory had already been in war with him for other reasons, without this news contributing in any way to make Hitler face one more enemy or lose the war he had already lost. Then comes Faurisson, he thinks this news was a fraud, and he thinks it is a good deed to expose this fraud. Some survivors take this very badly, and his version of exposing a fraud is currently a legal offense in France, because their feelings of being insulted or threatened have been used to lobby the "loi Gaissot".

But here, no one is seriously doubting that Jews in such camps were seriously hurt, as can be verified with those having survived them. Faurisson was at one time attributing the lie (and I think he was mistaken) to such people, when getting out, taking a chance to take revenge on those who had bullied them.

And if it comes to Palestinian victims of a UNO decision, UNO is not too likely to reverse it because of Faurisson exposing one of their reasons as factually wrong. There is more to be gained from exposing Palestinian suffering now, and from examining the rights they have to their land. In my view. That is why I am not a Faurisson unconditional fanatic, apart from thinking him factually mistaken on some particulars.

Does this mean, evil posing as good should never be exposed? Not so.

So, when should evil posing as good be exposed?

Recall the man on a bike and the old woman? No one who saw that happen doubted the young man was doing a very evil thing. I suppose. The woman was my granny. She went to the police, they gave her a date with a psychologist to deal with the trauma.

So, psychology poses as good, it helps people deal with trauma, right? Is it evil?

My granny went to the psychologist. She went out and never came back, because the psychologist told her "you never got bag-snatched, you know" ...

Yes, I think that psychologist should be exposed, or psychology in general, for telling real victims they are imagining things, so that the real culprits need not be chased. Lazy police not wanting to chase the bag-snatcher of a woman who may have been fairly impopular in the neighbourhood and whose bag-snatcher may therefore have had people protecting him. Once police start turning victims over to shrinks, they have quit doing their job as enforcers of law and order. They have become a kind of umpires of who is allowed to bully whom, instead.

I am not sure whether my granny was bag-snatched in Höja, a neighbourhood where she lived since 1972 and where she and my ma got poorer while others got better off, or whether she was bag-snatched in Rosengård, where she was a Swede. Either place, she could also have been accused of being much richer than she was, some people just would not believe ma and me could have travelled so much if we hadn't been. We could, question of priorities and of not being ashamed to beg when needed. When we were in US in 1977, before we returned to Vienna we were broke, we had the flight ticket from New York and there would be a study loan from Sweden awaiting her in Vienna when she was back at studying at med school, but we were in Anaheim, across the contiguous territory of the United States. Our journey from Anaheim to New York was a good lessing about how to live poorly and still enjoy life. The sect with which he had been staying (I say "sect" as in "non-Catholic purported Christian Church" not in the sociological sense) made a collection giving us a coast to coast ticket with Greyhound busses. Other example, in UK we were broke when visiting Stonehenge, and I made a drawing of a man in fancy (more or less Napoleonic) uniform and we got a great tomato soup in exchange. Displacement was done by hitchhiking.

In a similar vein, some people are now trying to expose that my blogs can't be done by a poor man in the street, there must be a fraud. No, long between 2009 and 2014 I was welcome to Georges Pompidou (now my luggage has become an obstacle), where internet sessions forty minutes a time can be renewed all day long to closing time at 22:00, except Tuesdays, and long after that up to 23.IV.2019 and a few days after that, I have been able to use the university library of Nanterre often all day long, from 8:30 to 20:00, shorter on Saturdays, and I have some other library cards where I can have one or two hours per day, which is great since the library card at Nanterre was not renewed when it should have been and the connection continued for months after that till the non-renewal came as a bombshell on St. George's day. No, I'm not very shell shocked, I don't need a psychologist to deal with that trauma, believe me!

I think exposing someone for being rich in hiding (I may be rich without accessing my money, though my last news involved 5010 € and I have just one of the study loan debts on 4500 €, leaving 510 but I am not accessing fortunes in hiding) is bad, because you risk being wrong. You risk denouncing someone who isn't rich, but who knows a trick or two on how to get a free ride when needed and how to get some things wanted even while poor.

But I think exposing psychologists for poopooing the real and sad event when pretending to deal with trauma is a good thing. In so far as I succeed, it may make some people less likely to send someone off to a psychologist or other shrink. And that is good. My grandma did not really need an insult from a shrink after a highly humiliating and physically hurtful bag-snatching.

So, my principle for exposing evil posing as good, I think some others might agree, is : expose the evil when it has a victim and when the victimisation is linked to that specific pose as a good thing. With the psychologist, the victim was my insulted grand-ma, and the victimisation was only possible because psychologists have a reputation of being great about dealing with trauma. Maybe that particular one was really great to some other case, and probably it would be impossible for this scam to go on without them being great to some people. With psychiatry locking people up, they are sometimes (not uniformly) very nice to depressive patients who, being depressive, are not upset about being locked in, and therefore get more good than evil from it, emotionally on their own view. They may still be victims of scams, like a shrink telling them to take such and such a medication to be sure to avoid suicide, but often they are at least not bullied when inside. I know one who may be an exception to that rule.

I know a man who would expose John Ronald Reuel Tolkien and Clive Staples Lewis for being part of the secret society. Where are the victims? None, so far as I can see.

I would expose the secret society or societies for giving psychologists and shrinks so much power. Given that the psychologist continued telling my grand-ma: "... you just imagined it" so many real crimes can be hidden when supposed expertise argue the victims just imagined the crime. Any direct victim of locking up, as well as any victim of other crimes not looked into because the victim could have (and on the view of an "expert" did) just imagine(d) it are victims to that evil posing as good.

It also happens, JRRT and CSL have written passages which do come close to if not directly exposing at least intelligibly illustrating an attempted exposure of psychologists and of locking up psychiatrists, that the Puritans who think they need to expose JRRT and CSL just because they are on their opinion "evil posing as good" could in fact be serving the real secret societies who did not put JRRT and CSL up to writing, nor me, but would like have people think so, so that the men they really put in place may be secure from exposures.

PS : A case very much in point : Atlas is a reference to a Pagan worldview. Armstrong considered another astronaut or was considered by one as a modern Atlas. To some this reference makes him pagan, therefore idolatrous, therefore evil, therefore certainly capable of being a faker. Quoting one such Puritan:

Exhibit #7: It is important to recognize the pagan mythological concepts employed by the occultists at NASA who faked the Apollo missions to the moon.

I do not find it at all necessary to out everyone who references a pagan concept as a pagan, still less to think evil of him in his other known capacities for that sole fact./HGL

Who Recommended This to Me?

I was bent on asking "who the Hell" but recalled it need not be Satan or even a demon in person, it could be just someone inspired by them ...

Relevant reasons not to recommend this to me:

  • I am not a fan of Jordan Peterson
  • I do not believe in psychiatry
  • I do not believe in exposing children to psychiatry
  • I believe "psychopath" is more a moral judgment than a capacities diagnosis and therefore should be left alone by shrinks and moral judgements should be made due to actions and as moral judgements, not as diagnostic pseudomedical ones.

Before You Call Someone (For Instance Me) a Mind Control Victim ...

HGL's F.B. writings : With TM, an Atheist Fanatic · New blog on the kid : Before You Call Someone (For Instance Me) a Mind Control Victim ...

From a post on a debate blog, the following debate on the subject of mind control can be extracted:

TM
People that need God are dangerous!

HGL
Marxist clap trap, and Marxists are documentedly dangerous, sorry, that is an insult to dangerous, they are vicious.

Look up Wurmbrandt's Tortured for Christ to see what Marxists did in Romania, and stop equating Theists with Islamic State.

TM
Man is dangerous & more so when they have a "God"

HGL
Man is dangerous, because Adam fell.

Having a false "God" - including yours, the absence of God - makes him more dangerous.

TM
All religions involve judgement & punishment they are all mind control

HGL
There is not anything like a mind without any kind of judgement or punishment or influence by others, which could with a stretch be considered mind control.

You show some of these.

TM
No your mind is controlled that is why you need a God & a government!

HGL
Sounds like yours is fanatic.

TM
I' not a fanatic you American Taliban are the fanatics I'm a scientist

HGL
"you X are the fanatics, I/we am/are scientist-s" is a very fanatic statement. I did not call you fanatic due to your beliefs, but due to how you deal with such believing what you don't - as seen in previous exchanges in this debate.

TM
You cannot reason with religous people otherwise they won't be religious!

HGL
You mean Atheists can't reason with religious people over recruting them for atheism, right?

IMPORTANT NOTE : this is not one subthread, but straddling some, and many of above statements are truncated to include only subjects like:

  • dangerous
  • mind controlled
  • can't reason with
  • fanatic

Two last here are also given outside the order they were in original debate, for that one, with subthreads correctly numbered, see:

I think the important thing to note is, whether someone has gone through anything like mind control attempts or not, is a question about his individual personal history, not about which positions he takes.

Also, a history of attempted mind control may well backfire on those trying to mind control someone - on SSHL, I was cut off from my Christian mother, Catholic students were not allowed to talk too much to me, especially about religion (I think), and I was under constant fire from Atheists and Anticlericals and Antichristians. When deciding to become Catholic, I was not very successful in contacting the Catholic Church at first, and part of the reasons the diocese pushed for "waiting" may have been that people from the school pushed against receiving me at all, or at least doing so rapidly. While they did not get what they wanted, as far as my religious affiliation is concerned, this left scars. Not totally different from those I would have if a mind control attempt had been successful.

If people seeing these scars conclude I was, in my individual history, subjected to mind control, the worst thing they can do - from a care perspective - is to attack my Catholicism as imposed by Catholic mind controllers. They are, in such a case, doing exactly what the people did who attempted to mind control me out of Christianity overall, and they are doing so from fairly similar motives, in the case of Atheists and Anticlericals. As to Protestants attacking Catholicism, they are what my mother protected me largely from - in that respect, even if on other issues joining their worship.

But I did not go to St. Thomas Aquinas or Catholic tradition, because a Catholic attacked the Bible or because a Catholic attacked Dale and Elaine Rhooton's Can We Know? or because a Catholic attacked Wurmbrandt or Edgar Andrews. I went to them because all this was under attack from Atheists, and I found the Catholic history the best support for Christianity - including Creationism (though I took a break from it after converting), including Anticommunism. And as to the kind of broad minded Protestantism which is Evolutionist, Marxist, un-Biblical and proud of it ... I met that to my surprise in the Swedish Church, perhaps saw more if it than there was, because C. S. Lewis had alerted me to it about Anglicanism, but there still was some. I didn't go to the Swedish Church for that. I never liked Modernism than, nor do I now.

What I need in my life is not more opportunities to get away from Catholicism (not the modernist version which more and more dominates the Vatican II Sect), or meet more and more non-Christians to broaden my mind : all such measures impoverish my opportunities to actually work with what I have, to actually earn money on expressing my convictions. Same with meeting Catholics in Modernist parishes, who are then not allowed to follow up with me.

I need to work with people I agree with and who agree with me. Not with people who agree with TM. On intellectual business, I can't work with them. They are not likely to help me print and sell Creationist stuff. On non-intellectual works, apart from my earning too little to pay the study loan, their presence would be a burden on the coffee breaks. Kunta Kinte was (according to novel, Toby Waller may have been a different matter) an Atlantic ocean away from Juffure and under the British and later US law a slave - two obstacles which should not be stopping me - and in Spotsylvania county he had only few Blacks equally interested in freedom from slavery, most being scared of trying. Fiddler told Kunta, he had seen five or six like him in a long life.

In a city like Paris or a region like Île de France, 2 million or 12 million, there should be at least about 1000 Catholics highly critical of modernism and willing to consider young earth creationism and geocentrism. At least 1 % of them should be in such positions in their lives that they'd be interested in working with me as writer or as one of the writers. Are they ALL manipulated by rumours about me? Are they ALL convinced earthly society needs the oppressions that I oppose, as in school compulsion, psychiatry, child welfare, as in heavy police control of the homeless? Are they all convinced forbidding abortion and gay marriage can be done without allowing something else, like for instance younger marriages and less attention at school, namely leaving only what is voluntary on part of parents and pupils?

Or are there shrinks who tell them, I am some kind of madman or drunkard, while themselves trying to treat me as a mind controlled person who on their theory needs even more mind control to "get well" or "adjust" or whatever they like to label the "cure"? If so, they are dealing behind my back.

Or are all of these obviously young people (people my age usually don't go around looking for a living on intellectual business, and I am only half an exception, since I started working - unpaid - 17 years ago, so they are young) ordered by parents or teachers or parsons to shun me?

Jordan Right 5/12

I think a comment on a bare summary of the 12 rules falls within fair use.

1)
Stand up straight with your shoulders back

Comment
Not 24/24, I hope?

2)
Treat yourself like someone you are responsible for helping

Comment
Hmm ... I think there is a bit of atheism involved ...

3)
Make friends with people who want the best for you

Comment
As they define my best or as I define it?

4)
Compare yourself to who you were yesterday, not to who someone else is today

Comment
Sounds a bit as if he's against Syndicates preaching wage equality and "same wage for same work" ?

Putting the latter in citation marks, since I think a family wage can earn more for a family breadwinner than for a single man doing same job, but still.

5)
Do not let your children do anything that makes you dislike them

Comment
For how long? Till 18? Till they leave your house? Past both?

6)
Set your house in perfect order before you criticise the world

Comment
Oh dear ... not too bright for those defending poor selves against rich, since poor selves have less capacity to set own house in perfect order

7)
Pursue what is meaningful (not what is expedient)

Comment
Hmmm ... I like that one.

8)
Tell the truth—or at least don't lie

Comment
I especially relish the first half, the second sounds a bit like what is sometimes expedient

9)
Assume that the person you are listening to might know something you don't

Comment
There are clear exceptions to this one - when you have seen each item of the list in a previous comment on internet.

10)
Be precise in your speech

Comment
I think in writing it is even more important - but OK, in speech it is appreciated too.

11)
Do not bother children when they are skateboarding

Comment
In a sense of accidents, should one bother anyone when skateboarding?

I mean, certain activities take concentration and are dangerous when the concentration is interfered with.

12)
Pet a cat when you encounter one on the street

Comment
Well, I would actually wait till the cat comes to me ...

12 Rules for Life: An Antidote to Chaos
Hardcover – 16 Jan 2018, by Jordan B. Peterson (Author)
https://www.amazon.co.uk/12-Rules-Life-Antidote-Chaos/dp/0241351634/ref=asap_bc?ie=UTF8

Actually, here is some more:

The great myths of the hero—from Gilgamesh to Luke Skywalker and Bilbo Baggins—typically recount the story of someone who leaves complacent domesticity behind in order to venture into the dangerous unknown, where he manages to find something of enormous value to his family or village or society. One key to psychological/spiritual fulfillment is to embody this archetype of the hero, to live one’s life as an adventurous exploration of the unknown. So Peterson tells his readers—especially young men, who have been cowed into complacency for various reasons—to throw back their shoulders, stand tall, and face the challenges of life head on. This archetype of the hero also allows us to read the story of Adam and Eve with fresh eyes. In Paradise (the word itself denotes “walled garden”), our first parents were secure and innocent, but in the manner of inexperienced children. Leaving Paradise was, in one sense, a positive move, for it permitted them to grow up, to engage the chaos of the unknown creatively and intelligently. This reading of Genesis, which has roots in Tillich, Hegel, and others, permits us to see that the goal of the spiritual life is not a simple return to the Garden of dreaming innocence, but rather an inhabiting of the Garden on the far side of the cross, that place where the tomb of Jesus was situated and in which the risen Christ appeared precisely as “gardener.”

This is from the résumé of the book by one Robber Baron of Theology, as I tend to call him.

He adds:

On balance, I like this book and warmly recommend it. I think it’s especially valuable for the beleaguered young men in our society, who need a mentor to tell them to stand up straight and act like heroes.

The Jordan Peterson Phenomenon
by Bishop Robert BarronFebruary 27, 2018
https://www.wordonfire.org/resources/article/the-jordan-peterson-phenomenon/5717/

If Robert Barron was anything like tongue in cheek about the fall, and Robert Peterson's Tillich's, Hegel's* and so on take on it, I missed that. The final quote from him seems to indicate, this was not the case, he agreed with it. Or at least found it an interesting and worthwhile take. I most totally disagree.

Leaving paradise was not a move, it was a punishment, it did not make Adam and Eve greater, but lesser, it did not make them more creative, but less so.

Some of the punishments would have been God's way of restoring perhaps half or a third or a quarter of the creativity or greatness they would have had, if they had remained without sin.

The innocence and security were coupled with** inexperience (indeed, Eve must have been inexperienced to talk to a talking snake, a housewife these days with even some basic catechism would probably have resorted to holy water and calling an exorcist as speedily as if pots and pans were flying around the kitchen outside her own tantrums or another family member's). We are savvy about poltergeists and would probably be so about talking snakes, she wasn't.

B u t, she was not just physically but also mentally equipped to her role as mother of all living. She did not need to fall and she certainly did not grow by the mere fact of falling. The innocence and security did not depend on her remaining inexperienced, except insofar as there are "experiences" we would all like to be spared ("ne nos inducas in tentationem, sed libera nos a malo").

The reading given Genesis 3 is one I think I recall as reading of as a Masonic and a Mormon one, it is not that I know a Catholic one.

Yes, one experience really made Adam and Eve greater for eternity which they got through their fall : being redeemed by the Cross. O felix culpa, quae tantum nos meruit salvatorem.

But apart from that one, in the "humanist" sense he espouses, no. Over Solzhenitsyn I vastly prefer Tolkien. "To grow is not to lose innocence". And alas, it is Solzhenitsyn and not Tolkien who is — it would seem — Jordan Peterson's hero. Even if perhaps he takes one of his from Tolkien.

* One can note, as C. S. Lewis was an ex-Hegelian, he did not share this error of Hegel in his Christian writings. At all. ** They were coupled with inexperience, but not per se permanently. They were not inexperience.
