To some people, the ideal Antichrist is a genius from Austria.

What do these things actually say?
Ezechiel:
Behold thou art wiser than Daniel: no secret is hid from thee. In thy wisdom and thy understanding thou hast made thyself strong: and hast gotten gold and silver into thy treasures. By the greatness of thy wisdom, and by thy traffic thou hast increased thy strength: and thy heart is lifted up with thy strength.
If Daniel was a genius, some say, Antichrist needs to be an even greater genius, because of "wiser than Daniel".
Challoner comments on these words like this:
[3] "Thou art wiser than Daniel": Viz., in thy own conceit. The wisdom of Daniel was so much celebrated in his days, that it became a proverb amongst the Chaldeans, when any one would express an extraordinary wisdom, to say he was as wise as Daniel.
So, Antichrist does not need to be objectively wiser than Daniel, he only needs to think so.
The fact noted by Chesterton that rich men tend to think they are geniuses for becoming rich is nearly alluded to in the next verses. Note, Putin is a very rich man.
And Daniel:
And after friendships, he will deal deceitfully with him: and he shall go up, and shall overcome with a small people.
With a small people? Fits Austria or Slovenia like hand in glove .... or Donbass or Chechnya.
Crimean Russians are a small people, even if Russians in general are not. Chechens are also a small people, once fiercely opposed to Putin, now they have an agreement.
