Tolkien died. The next day a novel was published. The Princess Bride. The author was a Jew, not a Catholic, unlike Tolkien.
The film, 14 years later, has very much overshadowed the novel. And one of the main attractions of the film is obviously Mandy Patinkin playing Inigo Montoya.
