"You Will Never Climb Alone"

Posted on a certain door of a certain facility with a stick-it.

It was kind of foreseeable I might use that toilet.

And it is not the first time that I get the impression that things add up around me as answers to me, while not mentioning me and not purporting to have anything to do with anyone in particular.

Getting an income as a writer is per se not what one would call climbing. One might consider it climbing compared to being homeless, sure, but it is not the usual definition of climbing.

Suppose I wanted to be a trader. I would need to make a good impression on very many people, I'd need to get the trust and sympathy of lots of people, I'd need to depend on lots of inside information, and therefore have a wide network. But, in fact I don't want to be a trader. And similarily, I don't try to be a spy. I don't hope to tower into power. I'm not into the kind of things that need networking.

I also don't try to live the kind of life that a certain GM did when a certain VS was among the ones he had in some sense groomed. French people may know what I am talking about. If I came into some kind of affectionate relation with an underage girl, I'd probably try to wait till she was of age. In fact, that is part of what may have been happened, except it begins not to add up, since if that had been the problem she should now actually already be of age (she didn't state she was underage, it was my guess at the time). So, I wonder why I'm basically ghosted, if she simply thinks me totally unattractive, she could just say so ...

I got shocked that there came to be such a hullabaloo about Alex Jurado, not over a girl who is 14 now, which I could understand as having some kind of legal ramifications, in many states they would probably not be able to marry, but over a girl who was 14 seven years ago, and so is of age now, even on the US 21 years limit. He denied it happened, not saying he is lying, but if he is, the right and perfectly sufficient thing to do would be to go and marry her, unless she was meanwhile with someone else or was meanwhile in a non-Catholic religion.* Or a nun.

If Catholicism in the US is so Puritanic as to find someone unacceptable as an Apologist for something that happened seven years ago and apparently didn't lead to anything beyond sexting if that's not a fabrication, then getting along in US Catholicism might need more networking than I thought. It's not as if he were Abbé Pierre. If it had happened now, as I thought yesterday and beginning of today, I might simply have advised them to go to a state where she could marry at age 14. I think this is way more important than state run support for exposed mothers to be seamlessly pro-life. The legislations from the Progressive Era are putting 14 year old unwed mothers in harm's way.

But I happen to not be in the US. I also happen to be in the country where Abbé Pierre was active. I also happen to be not exclusive on Apologetics.

Now, Abbé Pierre for some time was an abuser, but his foundation found out, and from that point on, they put pretty drastic security measures into place to make sure it didn't happen again. They may have heard a rumour of someone assessing me as a pedophile (some Swedes** would do that for my words about marriage of 14 year old girls), have identified the Apologetics part of my writings wrongly as an attempt to make my living as a kind of religious figure (I'm in fact a layman and hope to marry), and put some of those security measures into place about me.

That would be abusive. If I were the victim of such a network, I might need a whole network to break free from it.

But I'm going to talk about breaking free from networks now. Other than that of Abbé Pierre. And apart from breaking free from that one, if needed.

I have stated more than once that I'm a writer. That does not mean "I want to be a writer later on, when I have learned" it means some things are already being read and are on my view perfectly fit for print. (Obviously not on the view of certain US Catholics). It also doesn't mean I want to be any kind of writer that a network might decide on. Where I come from, writing is not foremost done on the orders of a network and also not to suit a network. A writer who did that would on my view be like a pub that served the beer of only one big brewery (I think such tying of pubs is illegal now, unless a pub is directly owned by the Guiness factory, it cannot be contracted to serve only Guiness, good as that beer is, it can however be obliged to serve Guiness according to Guines standards). You walk in, you hope to find any beer that the good taste of the pub owner may have inspired him to acquire, and you are shocked to find he cannot serve Kilkenny because he has a contract to Guiness. You maybe find Kilkenny preferable to Guiness. You may find Michele Guiness is wrong about Palestinians of Gaza (her bias would be understandable, if not correct). And yet you cannot get your Kilkenny, it's either Guiness or water or remain thirsty. That's a tied pub, and they don't exist any more. I don't want to be a tied writer any more than some pub owners want to be tied pubs. Or if, then to a local brewery (again very natural if the brewery and the pub have the same owner).

So, I don't want to be tied to novel writing alone, just because a network thinks my essays are worthy to be reused in certain facilities. In novel writing, if I take it up again, I don't want to be tied to the Isaac Asimov style, just because a network prefers that to Tolkien and C. S. Lewis, authors that still mean a lot and meant even a lot more when I grew up, to me. In music composition I don't want to be tied to an obligation to be able to play what I write, because a network thinks a composer who can't do that is a fraud, and I also don't want to be tied to the Schönberg style (which may have provoked the prejudice just alluded to ... a pianist who writes for piano in the Schönberg style at least is supposed to have tried whatever he wrote on his own ears, I tend to prefer well explored harmonies over those of Schönberg, not to mention Stravinsky or Alban Berg***).

Similarily, as a Catholic, I cannot be spokesman for a network of Jews, Muslims, Freemasons, Evangelicals or so, even informally, in my writing, unless very partially, like saying "some Jews could be in or preparing for the state of grace, since a Mass Conversion is upcoming" when Sungenis says it isn't or like saying "an Evangelical doesn't need to be Anti-Catholic very actively or even to deny the Real Presence," when some Catholics say they do and even associate Young Earth Creationism with that, for that reason. No, I don't affirm Hislop's cranky ideas and I also don't deny Holy Mass. Currently, partly no Mass in Paris is celebrated in communion with Pope Michael II, partly at certain parishes (I would say both an SSPX one and a Novus Ordo one), I would be putting myself at risk if they ally with psychiatry, about like going to Mass in LA may be risky for a Latino, simply because the priest can't block ICE out from all precincts.

So, do I actually need a big network? It could be useful for distribution, but as to produce something in a sellable and buyable form, I'd need one musician able to make a monetised music video or a few persons doing selection of texts plus some minor other editing and printing and binding, when it comes to essay collections.

I'm not looking for things as big as power or as classrooms. I'm not that kind of climber. If they say "you cannot climb without us" either that's an unintelligent observation or a criminal menace to my liberties.

PS Some guys are, very clearly, pretending to be giving me advice about a carreer I could chose, shouldn't chose and haven't chosen yet. I get this video suggestion: Monetising Your Hobby Really Is A Terrible Idea (Apologies to Abby Cox) after which I come to this one: Monetizing Your Hobby is a Terrible Idea. In fact, I have already chosen writing as a carrere, a long time ago, I am doing it as full time work, not as a mere hobby, and I am keeping it up while being exposed to harrassment at work, like a brawl breaking out outside the cyber right now, so no, it is absolutely NOT that I have so far been doing writing as a hobby and absolutely am not prepared for what it would take to have it as a work. I am doing it as a work. I am just being prevented from earning money from it, by slanderers who pretend I am squandering time on a hobby instead of doing work. There very clearly is a network hellbent, and I chose that word very deliberately, on preventing my writings on being sufficiently widely read to make an impact on society and so also sufficiently widely read to allow me sales of pages of paper so as to give me an upkeep. I have not taken their mark and they are forbidding me to "buy and sell" in the sense of making money independently./HGL

** I left Sweden too late to have stayed out of legal trouble there, and no, the trouble was NOT about grooming or attempting to do so. It was self defense against psychiatry, more specifically against a policeman having brought me to a doctor for examination (against the doctor too, but that wasn't added to the charges).

*** I may add, I made a bad experiment in the Stravinsky style, back in 2005, got it played and was shocked it was in fact in the Alban Berg style. No, I don't have absolute ear and don't know exactly what my compositions sound like until they are played. But I did know that composition should not have been played in a church, and am still bitter not only that my venture became dragged into a sacrilege, but also that this is still held against me, as if that sacrilege was my fault. I did try to stop the man from playing it on the organ, I was not more clueless than that about what I had written. This was within five or six weeks after Corpus Christi.
