On my reading list, and on certain blogs linked to from blogs on the reading list, I do find blogs which are archives but no longer publish new issues - this is sometimes called "blog death", though the term is misleading, they are still there to read.

36 divides into 4 groups, 1-9, 10-18, 19-27, 28-36.
The mid half is that of the two mid groups, meaning, 10 to 27, Friday, March 25, 2011 to Tuesday, January 21, 2014. The very centre of the group is 18 to 19, Thursday, March 1, 2012 to Wednesday, May 2, 2012.
The following are not dead, since from my latest update, after above stats:

Now, what was happening March to May 2012? Or in March and April, since 2 May is very little into May?
I don't know exactly what, but I have a shrewd guess. Catholic priest in that Lent were telling Catholic bloggers to give up blogging, telling them that it was vainglory to be blogging, after they had previously seen blogging as part of New Evangelisation (also known as "German Shepherd's" version of Pius XI's Catholic Action). The Russian and Anglican, but not Catholic, idea that laymen have no business to do any theology, even for apologetics or social doctrine (perhaps especially not for social doctrine), was very probably pushed among Catholics. By priests who were as Catholic as Novus Ordo priests can be. Or had been previous to that change. The idea - my reconstruction of what happened - is a very probable insult to St Justin, as well as to St Thomas More.
