Perfidy of Hamas ... does not totally justify Tsahal.

It is a perfidy which reminds me of that of Ho Chi Minh. Che Guevara admired it. One reason why I detest both Che and Ho. It is a perfidy of taking civilians hostages, so as to make it - insofar as possible - a necessity for the other army to strike back not only at the guerilla, but also at civilians at same time, so as to make civilians outraged about the other army.

But I have a feeling, when it comes to Palestinian Civilians, Tsahal is not quite unwilling to fall into the trap. Note, similar things have been seen in some Viet Nam veterans all too willing to "kill gooks" as if the people rather than Ho Chi Minh was the problem.

To some degree it does however justify Tsahal. It is one thing to aim at a hospital because it is a hospital and another to aim at it despite its being a hospital because rockets are fired from it. But I would be happier about having relatives of mine in Israeli citizenship, if Tsahal used smaller guns and bullets one could aim with better precision.

Imagine two different scenarios.

A) You are lying in a hospital. Hamas is firing rockets beside you. "Oh no," you groan. And THEN comes a big shell, half your room is blown up, the granny you had been talking to is blown to pieces.

B)You are lying in a hospital. Hamas is firing rockets beside you. "Oh no," you groan. And THEN comes ... a pistol shot. And another. And the two Hamas men who were firing rockets are dead, outside the room.

Perhaps I am dreaming about the impossible. But you know yourself which one of the two would antagonise the Palestinian in hospital more and make him likelier to support Hamas.
